Celtic’s hopes of progressing from the Europa League group stage came to an end on Thursday after another woeful result.

Neil Lennon’s side fell to a second successive 4-1 defeat to Sparta Prague, and many Hoops fans weren’t impressed with defender Kristoffer Ajer.

Ajer partnered the returning Christopher Jullien in a back four, with things getting off to a good start after Odsonne Edouard‘s fine effort put the visitors ahead.

David Hancko soon equalised after Celtic failed to clear from a corner, with Lukas Julis putting the hosts ahead shortly after.

Ajer didn’t cover himself in glory along with his defensive colleagues, with the 22-year-old caught out for the cross which led to Julis’ first.

The forward scored his fifth goal against the Hoops in two games with 10 minutes remaining and Srdjan Plavsic sealed the win in stoppage time.

These Celtic supporters weren’t impressed with the centre-back and vented their frustrations on social media, with one describing the performance as ‘horrendous’.
