Celtic interested in Sheffield Wednesday’s Liam Shaw
Celtic are interested in signing highly-rated Sheffield Wednesday teenager Liam Shaw.
That’s according to The Atheltic, with the reliable outlet revealing that the Hoops are looking at UK-based prospects who are available either on a pre-contract or for a nominal fee.
Shaw, 19, is out of contract with his boyhood club in the summer but has been offered an extension with the Owls.
The youngster, who can turn out in central midfield or at centre-back, has made 12 first-team appearances this season, netting his first senior goal against Middlesborough last month.

Several Sheffield Wednesday fans have been pleading with the club to tie Shaw down to a new contract at Hillsborough, so they could be devastated should the Hoops seal a deal for Shaw.
He’s shown maturity beyond his years in recent months by playing in two different positions in the second-tier and could be a shrewd signing by the Hoops.
Do you think the club's approach to sign young UK-based prospects is a good one?
Yes
No
Their plans to target UK-based prospects with high potential, to us, is a good move, but there will come a point where Celtic will have to actually get deals over the line.
The Hoops are free to discuss pre-contract terms right now, so hold an advantage over clubs in England. Should they wait until the summer, the club could find it much more difficult.
