Plenty of Celtic supporters have been reacting to an impressive statistic regarding David Turnbull.

The 21-year-old had to be patient to receive a run in Neil Lennon’s first team plans following his £3m move from Motherwell last year. Turnbull’s first Premiership start for the Hoops came in the 2-1 win over St Johnstone in October, but he then had to wait a further two months for another league start.

Since December, though, the attacking midfielder has been an ever-present figure in Lennon’s side, making a total of 25 appearances in green and white thus far. [Transfermarkt]

He has registered six assists and scored seven goals for Celtic and has completed 76 key passes in the Premiership this season – 18 for Motherwell and 58 for the Hoops, as per WhoScored.

Turnbull is ahead of the likes of Chelsea’s Mason Mount, Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Wolves’ Pedro Neto in terms of executing more key passes than any other player under 23 in Europe’s top leagues, as shared by @fbwonderkids on Twitter.
