It’s been just over 24 hours since Neil Lennon’s resignation as Celtic boss.
And, as to be expected, plenty of managers have been linked with the vacant Parkhead position.
One man who is thought to be on the club’s ‘shortlist’ is Dan Petrescu, according to journalist Gianluigi Longari, cited by Sports Witness.
Petrescu, 53, is available in the managerial market after recently leaving Turkish side Kayserispor. He was only in charge of Kayserispor for a month, with his contract terminated by mutual consent reportedly due to family reasons.
However, it seems as if Petrescu is a man the Hoops are looking at, as they search for Lennon’s long-term successor.

Celtic supporters will know Petrescu from his time as CFR Cluj boss. The Romanian knocked the Hoops out of the Champions League in the 2019/20 season with a 5-4 aggregate win, before meeting again in the Europa League group stage.
Petrescu has already worked in seven countries, and Scotland could well be his eighth, should he move to Parkhead. He has plenty of experience, but so do others linked with the vacant post.
The Hoops need to get this managerial decision spot on, and if taking more time to make a call is needed, then so be it.
