Plenty of Celtic supporters have been giving their thoughts on a potential permanent move for loanee Jonjoe Kenny after a report revealed Everton’s summer asking price stance.
Kenny was the club’s only January signing, arriving until the end of the season on deadline day. The 23-year-old has been a regular at Parkhead since moving north – not missing a minute of action in the Hoops’ last seven Scottish Premiership fixtures.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, Kenny, valued at £6.3m by Transfermarkt is expected to leave the Toffees in the summer.
The report adds that Everton were looking for a £10m fee in January, but with Kenny entering the final 12 months of his deal in the summer, that asking price will have to be lowered.
Celtic will more than likely be in the market for right-back reinforcements ahead of the 2021/22 campaign after Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Elhamed left Parkhead earlier this year.
We shared the news regarding Kenny’s summer asking price in an opinion piece on our official Read Celtic Facebook page on Tuesday evening, asking fans if they would like to see a summer deal materialise.
This is what they had to say, with many for and against a potential transfer…
Martin Sim: 100%. Looks keen and a good defender.
Mark Bradley: He has been alright and is worth 3 million or so. Not a lot more. The premier league valuations and wages are not really for us.
Gary McGuinness: Solid defender might be better with a real manager.
Ian Bell: since arriving hasnt put a foot wrong no brainer
Gerry Thomson: Not really, never goes past a man, always plays it backward.
Robert Brady: It’s a no from me, been bang average and we have enough of those players already. I’d be very surprised if Lee O’connor doesn’t have the ability to step up by now!
Marius Codrea: Nothing special. On you go son.
