One Celtic fan account has called for more respect to be out on the name of Odsonne Edouard by some sections of the Celtic support.

Edouard joined Premier League club Crystal Palace from the Bhoys on deadline day and has already scored three goals for his new club in the English top-flight.

The account was prompted into discussing Edouard after the ex-Celtic man scored to give the Eagles an advantage against Arsenal on Monday night, only for a ninety-fifth minute equaliser to prevent Edouard’s new side from snatching all three points.

Having established himself in the top flight of English football, one Tweet took a look at what was left behind by the Frenchman since he arrived from PSG.

Commenting on the legacy left by Edouard, popular Celtic fan page Everything Celtic (@aboutceltic) took to Twitter to deliver a verdict as he drew attention to the achievements left by Edouard:

“Odsonne Edouard finished top goalscorer three years in a row. Odsonne Edouard won seven major trophies at Celtic. Odsonne Edouard scored seven times vs our closest rivals. Odsonne Edouard scored fifteen times in Europe. Yet we’ve still supporters that don’t appreciate him…”, noted the page.

Edouard was frequently slammed for his attitude in his final full season, yet Edouard finished as the top scorer under Neil Lennon’s doom-laden campaign.

Do you still hold Edouard in good regard?

Taking a longer-term view, the Tweet expertly sets out the sheer scale of his long-term contributions to the club.

His lacklustre attitude at times is rightly concerning, but do not let it take away from the success he has been the cornerstone of at Celtic for years.
