New Celtic signing Hyeongyu Oh has only just arrived at Celtic Park, but he feels that he could feature in the Hoops’ next league game against Dundee United, which is less than 48 hours away.

Despite only training with his new teammates for a few days and not playing football since last year, the 21-year-old feels that he could feature in the game at Tannadice for the Bhoys.

Here is what he says on the matter, as quoted by the Daily Record:

I’m fit and ready to play. I have a winning mentality. I never like to lose. I enjoy the pressure of winning. I want to give a good impression on my debut and make it a match that no one will be able to forget. The manager showed a lot of faith in me to bring me here, and I want to pay him back by scoring lots of goals.

Celtic currently have three main strikers on the books at the club, as Oh, Kyogo and Georgios Giakoumakis can all play in that position, but there are doubts over the Greek forward’s future at Celtic.

READ CELTIC VERDICT:

It is certainly encouraging for Celtic that the player has declared himself fit and ready to play for the Hoops, but the game at Tannadice might have come too early for the striker. as he has only just arrived at Celtic.

But then Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou does like to give players their debuts not long after they have joined the club, and the three other Hoops signings in the January transfer window have all made their first-team debuts for the Bhoys.

It is certainly an interesting dilemma for the Celtic boss, and he will be impressed with the attitude that Oh has shown that he wants to play for the Bhoys already.

Perhaps the best that Oh can expect against Dundee United is a place on the bench, but with Celtic playing another two league games next week – against Livingston and St Johnstone – then there will be more chances for the striker to make the Celtic squad.

You have to think that Oh will feature in at least one of those three league games, and it wouldn’t be a complete shock if he featured at some stage in all three, but that will depend on the manager and the player.

It seems highly likely we will see Oh make his Celtic debut sooner rather than later, and judging by his comments he wants to score a lot of goal, and hopefully he will hit the ground running and do so for the Hoops.
