So, it looks like Inverness Caley Thistle will live to fight another day.
The Highland club is set to stave off the looming shadow of administration.
It appears a mystery Highlands businessman has stepped in with a bid to save the ailing club.
And Just Like Celtic back in 1994, Caley Thistle may have found their very own version of Fergus McCann.

All of the Ibrox support’s efforts to expedite the demise of Inverness Caledonian Thistle were entirely in vain.
I wrote about this in detail yesterday, and in reality, if this deal is finalised, justice will have been done.
It makes you wonder if the un-named Highlands businessman was stirred into action after the behaviour of the Ibrox support towards Caley Thistle.
Obviously, I have no proof that their actions did influence him, or stir him into action.
But if I was witness to what Ibrox fans attempted to do, and I had the means to help them?
Well, I know that would only serve to galvanise my determination to ensure the club survived.
It’s nice to think that the actions of the klanbase probably helped, rather than hindered the long-term survival of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

It’s also ironic that an eleventh hour rescue could happen.
Just like it did 30 years ago for Celtic, when the Bunnet came in and set us on the road to where we are now.
All those years ago, David Murray and his cronies at Bank Of Scotland thought they could bring about the demise of Celtic.
Murray, in collusion with Gavin Masterton, encouraged Bank of Scotland to shut Celtic down.
But it never came to pass, thanks to Fergus McCann and the rebels.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
The similarities between what happened with us, and what’s happening at Inverness Caledonian Thistle are striking.
Now, obviously, the Ibrox club of today has no where near the amount of power and influence it had back in 1994.
The pathetic efforts of their support to lock out Caley Thistle supporters from a public meeting in relation to saving their club, look to have failed miserably.
Despite the klanbase’s best efforts, the Highland club’s supporters still managed to raise £85,000 towards the £200,000 required to keep them afloat.

The Record ran with the story late yesterday evening.
In it, they explained that the ‘mystery Highlands businessman’ was set to have crunch talks with Caley Thistle today:
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are reportedly set to hold a crunch talks with an unnamed Highlands businessman on Thursday as they desperately continue their bid to save the club from going bust.
Despite the success of a fundraiser which raised a credible £85,000 for the club, the League One side were hoping to bank £200,000 to go towards the £1.6million needed to keep them afloat for the remainder of the season. At a meeting last week, former Caley Thistle chairman Alan Savage warned supporters to brace themselves for administration with the BDO on standby. But the local businessman – who has chosen to remain anonymous – has now confirmed that he will told talks with Caley officials on Thursday, with the investor willing to pump £1.2million into the coffers in return for a 50.45 per cent stake in the club, according to the Press and Journal.
So, the intent to save the club is very much there.
And as I write, talks are probably on-going to push a deal through.
I don’t think club officials have much other options.
So this businessman would appear to be their only route to safety.
As a result, you’d expect this deal to be finalised today.
It also seems that the mystery investor’s intentions are clear:
A spokesperson for the mystery investor – who is believed to have no current links to football – read: “Myself and the investor will be in Inverness tomorrow morning to hold a meeting and have been in touch with the club. We will be doing everything correctly and the right way to see if there is a solution for a deal.”
Obviously, if this deal goes ahead, it will bear striking similarities to what occurred with Celtic back in 1994, albeit on a much smaller scale.
Once again, an Ibrox attempt to kill a club, will have failed.
If this deal is finalised today, I’m sure in due course, we’ll find out who the ‘mystery investor’ was.
I’m also sure that Caley Thistle fans will be eternally grateful to him for saving their club.

Just as we were to Fergus McCann 30 years ago.
Maybe Sugar Daddies do exist, after all?
But they only come in under the right circumstances.
Meanwhile, the eternal wait for one continues over at Ibrox.
It’s a mystery to me that a ‘mystery investor’ has never stepped in to ‘invest’ in their club.
Then again, one did back in 2011, it’s just a ‘mystery’ where all of his billions disappeared to.
Only Keith Jackson has the answer to that mystery.
And many others….
Praying that the “mystery investor ” saves them from going into administration 🙏
Just to spite the so called fans of newco who tried to interfere in the process of a struggling club which had nothing to do with them.
Their attempts to kill off Caley just reek of wee guy behaviour and it will be good if it all fails. Now that would be real karma 😅😅😅
Have you been smoking weed too?
I fail to see what weed has got to do with any of this?
Who cares if ICT fail ? Another , better run club will step up
Eric our wee friend! You and people like you ARE the weed!
I’m a Celtic fan who lives in the Highlands and I am in favour of Calay Thistle being saved, there is a history with Ross County and the local derbies .Hope they are saved and get back up the league’s.
Small minded people really are so childish ,but SEVCO are lowest of the as is their following
SEVCO ARE CARAMERO FC
🐣 ” IT’S AN INJUSTICE “😫
Been a Celtic fan all my life and was grateful for what “the bunnet ” did for us all those years ago and I do hope this mystery investor gets a deal done. Newco showing their true colours yet again
I am on holiday in the Highlands and yesterday I popped into the Ross County club shop in Dingwall. The staff there (apart from being very friendly) appeared sincerely hurt that ICT are in such a bad way. ‘We are Highlanders and care a lot about our neighbours in Inverness’ Brian the manager said to me. No one wants to see Caley Jags go under. I feel for big Dunc in all of this.
Please dont go,best headline ever, inverness caley go ballistic,c####c are atrocious.

True, but they got that headline spot on.
Isn’t it strange that your new club, which has seen more courts than Novak Djokovic,if it was indeed the same club, didn’t appeal after finishing 2nd in the top tier in 2011/12 , yet started the following season in the 4th tier!!
In fact Chuckles Green actually thanked every club who voted them to start life in said 4th tier despite not having the criteria to do so, namely 3 years accounts.
Just because 12 years have passed, it doesn’t mean that supporters of Scottish clubs everywhere don’t know the facts.
I’m of an older generation who has friends who were fans of the dead club and won’t pretend that the club that they watch die didn’t really die and that it was all a Bobby Ewing emerging from the shower moment.
Wilkins
I take it that you are a flat earther,
Can you tell me why, if the dead club is the same as the new club, why they asked for a club licence to be transferred from themselves to themselves?
Anybody here is welcome to the Ibrox trophy room anytime.
Green with envy I think?
Im not that interested in
ICT,Im more interested in my club. You should try it sometime.

Calm down dear.
Anyway, as your old club were officially liquidated yesterday, how did you feel when the news broke that your old club was sent for liquidation?
Was it your JFK moment?
When one newspaper said liverpool fans were robbing from the dead fans at Hillsborough did you believe that too?
Jfk,jock forgot the kids.
Thats not right, not right at all.

You are getting desperate.
Ever newspaper, tv and radio show carried the death of your old club as headline reports, and did for many days after that.
You are showing yourself up as a fucking arsehole with digs at the greatest manager ever and child abuse.
But only a desperate arsehole like you could do that yet sweep under the carpet the abuse that Neely and Dunn carried out, the abused also confirmed that Smith and Souness were well aware of it yet covered it up.
All this coming from a fan of the old dead club who were totally responsible for the manslaughter of 66 innocent people and the injury of hundreds more.
You supported a club responsible for killing its own fans you fucking arsehole!!
The fact that you can’t come up with a lame answer as to , if the new club was the same as the dead club, why they asked for a club licence to be transferred from themselves to themselves (pmsl!!) shows up that you know the truth of your old club hilariously dying.
Especially as Chuckles thanked clubs for voting a new club into the 4th tier and your club, never out of law courts, delighted with the outcome.

Well don’t sink to child abuse levels when it happened at your old club too, but mainly because it’s trawling the depths and shows no thought for the abused who I imagine don’t see how grown adults can hurl it around as point scoring.
Holding Company, Engine Room Subsidiary FC 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
