Once one twat in the media starts talking about Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic, they all start talking about it.
Yesterday it was Ally McCoist, this morning it’s Alan Brazil.
Brazil has actually come up with this ridiculous notion that Rodgers would leave Celtic to and work for the Ibrox side’s prospective new owners at Leeds.
That idea is just barmy.
Who will it be next?
Just watch closely and the stories will flow from all the same non-entities in the media.
Keith Wyness and Alan Hutton will pipe up about it over on the most reliable source of all, Football Insider.
The cricket bloggers will then run with it, citing Football Insider as their source.
Then the Record will run with it, citing some obscure gambling website as their source.
Or Football Insider.
Not one single personality or outlet will be a credible source in all of this, but it will grow legs nonetheless.
On Sunday morning, Hugh Keevins will be trying to convince everyone it’s just a matter of time.
That if Rodgers doesn’t go now, he’ll be gone by the end of next season.

The media will work itself into a frenzy, and by Monday next, when Celtic are title winners, Keith Jackson will desperately attempt to wish it into existence.
Every one of them will be wasting their time.
And the fact that this is evening being given airtime is more about desperation than anything else.
Desperation for the dream scenario to come to fruition.
The Yanks to take control at Ibrox, and Rodgers to hightail it off to the EPL again.
The SMSM’s wet dream come true.
Just a shame that they’re completely thick and have no ability to register what Brendan Rodgers himself had made abundantly clear.
Rodgers, as we know, stated that he will be at Celtic 150% next season.
What happens beyond that, remains to be seen.
Bearing that statement in mind, does anybody think that Tottenham are going to wait around for a year for Brendan Rodgers?
Personally, I believe Ange Postecoglou will win the Europa League.

I think he will do it out of determination to shove it down every Spurs fan’s throat after the abuse he has put up with this season.
He’ll leave on a high, having proved his theory that he always wins a trophy in his second season.
Tottenham will have their manager hired before the end of this summer, and that will be the end of that.
The SMSM are clueless.
They just make it up as they go along.
Just because they wish that Brendan Rodgers might be gone, doesn’t make it so.
All the bullshit stories from McCoist, Brazil, Wyness, Hutton, gambling websites, cricket bloggers and every hun in the street and his dog, will not make it so.
The man said he would 150% be here next season.
I have no reason to dispute the veracity of his statement.
Rodgers knows his word binds him to Celtic this time around.
There is no way he is going to tarnish his legacy a second time.
If and when he goes out, he will go out on the ultimate high.
Leaving no unfinished business when he does.
It really is that simple.
But then when we have a media full of simpletons, simple is way beyond their grasp.
And that’s not going to change any time soon…
‘ He’ll leave on a high, having proved his theory that he always wins a trophy in his second season.’
It’s not a theory, Eric, it’s a fact, he has won something every second season though I doubt he’ll be able to say it again after this season as I think the Europa League might just be a step too far.
There’s just one problem with your theory/reasoning, Eric.
Coupled with the simpletons in the SMSM are the parasites in the Celtic boardroom, led by their greedy snouts,by Pete the Parasite………And what he says, and does, GOES !!!
If it comes to pass that BR leaves in the summer it will mean that these wankers do not meet his aspirations for the club’s performances in Europe.
If he does decide to leave again then he’ll go with my blessing as long as he spills the beans on what he had to contend with from the 5th columnists at Celtic Park.
