The Ibrox side paid £4.5 million for a player who plied his trade in the third tier of the German League pyramid.
In doing so, Ryan Naderi became the most expensive outgoing transfer in the history of 3. Liga.
Naderi scored just 13 goals in 45 appearances for Hansa Rostock.
Hardly awe inspiring is it?
And that kind of return hardly justifies the price the Ibrox side paid for him.
A lot of Celtic fans were baffled when the Ibrox side paid £3 million to a 3rd tier English side for Emmanuel Fernandez.
That seemed like a lot of money for a player plying his trade in League 1.
But never fear, Fernandez is already a world beater, with Arsenal and Chelsea beating down the Ibrox door for him.
Reliable websites like Football Fancast and Football Insider are on the money when it comes to things like this, don’t you know?
As well as Chelsea and Arsenal, West Ham are “eyeing” Fernandez too, and when clubs starting “eyeing”, its only a matter of time.
So in that case, it should only be a “matter of time” before Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund coming knocking for Naderi.
The only thing he needs to knock on the head and that goal scoring thing.
You know?
That thing that strikers have to do?
Where they put the ball in between the two sticks at either end of the pitch.
Yes, that one.
It seems that while it wasn’t so tricky in Rostock, its proven very tricky in the backwater that is the Scottish Premiership.
Naderi drew a blank again last night against Aberdeen.
The Ibrox side haven’t actually managed to get any bang for their 4.5 million bucks.

Röhl has to justify Ryan Naderi becoming the most expensive player purchase in 3. Liga history, after two toothless performances against Celtic amongst others.
One goal so far against lowly Queens Park doesn’t actually meet requirements.
But not to worry.
Apparently Naderi doesn’t like Celtic, so that’s him sorted.
If only he could knock that goal scoring thing on the head, life would get so much better at Ibrox.
But never fear; cool, calm, and collected Danny Röhl has stepped up to reassure everyone that Naderi wasn’t a waste of £4.5 million.
What’s another £4.5 million cast into the Ibrox black money hole anyway?
It isn’t as if spending almost £200 million in the last 14 years hasn’t given them a good return on that investment, is it?
Oh wait……
Whoops, I’d better not upset the bears.
Upset bears do mad things at Ibrox, like dressing up as Marvel Superheroes and stuff, thus becoming Superheroes charged with protecting people and things.

I digress.
Back to Danny Röhl and his wunderkind, Ryan Naderi.
Danny says that Ryan is destined for great things.
Because he’s a hard worker…
Here’s what he had to say in Friday’s Record:
Ryan is a hard worker for the group. I think he creates a lot of spaces for the team-mates and this is really great. In all the games, he gets into good situations, with great opportunities to score.
It’s a strength of his that he can play on the last line in the box – but also be the link player between the lines. This is the reason why with Ryan and Youssef you can play with two centre forwards. You have two different profiles.
One guy can stretch the field. The other guy can receive the ball between the lines. This is not the issue. The issue is the players around them, to help them get the next opportunities.
Even in the last game against St Mirren, we missed some great opportunities where we had to make an extra diagonal pass to find the right spaces. If we do this then, we’ll have a great opportunity to create more chances.
And there you have it.
Stretching fields and balls between lines and stuff, brilliant.
Just brilliant.
Well, never fear, another Ibrox legend will emerge once Ryan Naderi knocks that goalscoring thing.
About a year from now Bayern Munich will be tabling a £40 million bid.
About the same time, Celtic will receive a £50 million bid for Hyun-Jun Yang because he’s showing everyone this season what a class act he is.
Indeed.
I just love all of these feel good stories from Ibrox.
They always make me feel good anyway.
Because I get to laugh a lot at them.
And that makes me feel good.
Know what I mean?
I know you do…
