After yesterday’s events, and the events of the last week, Celtic Park now reeks of the pungent odour of mediocrity and risk aversion.
Everybody knows it.
Everybody recognises it.
I don’t think Celtic are at a point where they are a laughing stock any longer.
No, I think at this point – from an outsider’s perspective – we are to be more pitied than laughed at.
A collapsing regime, folding under the pressures of the modern game, while being run by a bunch of clueless old men.
Who are out of touch, and now fast running out of time.
It looks pitiful.
They have – in fact – been out of touch for the better part of 20 years.
Make no mistake, Desmond’s regime is collapsing, and he and his board of utter incompetents are the architects of their own downfall.
Yesterday, I wrote an article focusing on the fact that the incompetence at Celtic Park is ‘engineered incompetence’.
Engineered and driven entirely by Desmond.
None of the men on the Celtic board are stupid.
None of them are incompetent.
But they are being made to look that way by a despot dictator who does not care anymore about the damage he is causing to Celtic Football Club.
Yet, day after day, they go along with this complete farce.
In doing so, they are complicit in the destruction of the football club they are supposed to be custodians of.
All because they are afraid to grow a pair of balls and stand up to a bitter old fart like Desmond.
As custodians, they are entrusted with the care, safeguarding, and maintenance of Glasgow Celtic Football Club.
Are they fulfilling that role?
These men that apparently ‘bleed Celtic’?
How can they call themselves fans of our club when they are wholeheartedly participating in the destruction of it?
They have destroyed our reputation as a respected institution.
They have transformed us into a pariah in the European transfer market.
Nobody wants to deal with Celtic.
The Celtic manager’s job was once a coveted role.
Now no football manager with any self-respect will come near our club.
Why would they?
Everybody has seen how managers who deliver success are treated at this club.
Most managers aspire to deliver success at every football club they manage, but naturally, they expect that success is built upon.
At Celtic, success is rewarded with the asset stripping of the the football squad that helped deliver said success.
The more you deliver success, the less you will be given to maintain it.
No forward momentum is ever built upon at Celtic.
Every football manager worth his salt out there now knows that.
Even the 74 year old one we have at the moment is starting to understand that.
But it is now becoming clear as to why Martin O’Neill continues to cooperate with the current shitshow at Celtic.
Rumours are starting to circulate that because O’Neill is in serious debt, the Celtic job is a huge help to him financially.
This is the ‘favour’ that Desmond has done for him.
Essentially, Desmond has O’Neill over the barrel of a financial gun.
Hence O’Neill’s continued cooperation with the destruction of this football club.
It has become so bad now, that players have no qualms when it comes to speaking openly about their treatment at the hands of our ‘world class’ custodians.
Both Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi confirmed they would not be returning to the club yesterday.

Both confirmed they did their absolute best and tried everything in their power to return to the club.
The loss of these two players is a damning indictment of the current situation at Celtic.
A situation that has now gone beyond untenable.
This is uncharted territory at Celtic.
I have never seen it so bad at the club that players have to speak openly about their mistreatment.
This regime is collapsing in real time.
All regimes in their death throes resemble what Celtic resembles at this moment time.
Mistakes that shock the entire fanbase are considered normality by a cabal of people who cannot recognise that this is gone beyond the point of no return.
They believe they can do no wrong.
Simply because a geriatric ‘double billionaire’ tells them so.
The army of happy clappers dwindles by the day.
Their voices retreat into the shadows because they are beginning to understand that defending this utter shitshow only makes them look more foolish than they already are.
You cannot defend the indefensible.
Last season Brendan Rodgers stated that he had been given the keys to a Honda Civic and expected to drive it like a Ferrari.
It looks like this season, Martin O’Neill has been given the keys to a Toyota Aygo, and expected to drive it like a Honda Civic.

This, indeed, is the perfect metaphor for Celtic’s inexplicable continued downsizing.
Bungling Michael Nicholson stated, and I quote, that the ‘easy signings are the players that are out of contract and these are being worked on immediately‘.
Somehow, he still even managed to f*** those up.
These f*** ups are no longer acceptable.
The season opener is a fortnight away, and already – before a ball is kicked in anger – almost the entire fanbase is heartily sick of the current regime.
Nobody is looking forward to the commencement of this campaign.
It is being met with a sense of dread and impending doom.
Today sees the first fixture played out at Celtic Park, with the friendly against Middlesboro.
It is the first chance for Celtic fans to express their discontent with this regime.
There are no chances left for them now.
Yesterday proved they are not, and have not been for a long time, fit for purpose.
The beginning of the end starts today.
And every day from here on out until they are gone.
We want our club back.

Can anyone really be at all surprised or shocked at the sheer utter insane mess Celtic FC finds itself in today with a litany of ‘ostrich syndrome ‘ episodes unfold from the board as all Celtic fans watch helplessly on ? Headed by the dumb ass decision to have the daily Record …the God awful Scottish Sun and the Herald as preferred media partners when everyone and their dogs know the three dwindling circling the drains of extinction rags are as anti Celtic as you could ever read…..anywhere ! Which genius on the board decided that was an advantage to Celtic by making that decision ? Then to cap it all off there is a highly paid CEO who stated that he can’t deal with agents this week ! Why has this dusty old ranch hand not been ‘escorted ‘ from the premises within 24 hours maximum for admitting that he was a large plank of wood ? The things you see when not having a chainsaw …eah !
I don’t know the situation with Sarachi who I would love to see return but Iheanacho was asking for more money than McGregor gets. Is that really a wise move for a guy who was very much an impact player? Not for me.
You’d actually believe the board on tbat? Second division Turkish sides do not pay £47k per week. The Championship doesn’t pay wages like that, so why would a Turkish second tier side?
Was he getting more than CalMac last season ? If we had activated the extension it would have been on that money … Also doubt very much a 2nd division club would pay 47k … But it’s easier to spin it that he wanted too much .
You don’t write a year extension into the deal if you are unhappy with the terms, or Idd make the deal in the first place. He was not coming from an EPL winning team, he came from football obscurity, rescued if you like. How any fool believes a word from this board, after their 20 years of lies is beyond rational explanation tbh.
The odious Desmond and his malignant junta of corporate greed and austerity fc, will have to dragged screaming from Celtic fc as the man is the lowest form of human life a blood sucker draining the very life from our club , thanks to the so called fans the season ticket holders who have given carte blanch to Desmond to behave as if the club is in financial distress, I really fear the reluctance to spend our money to strengthen the squad as we would wish is an indication that all is not well the club as behaving as if they are a club in financial distress tends to worry . It is now essential that we stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
Wake up ,the odious Desmond and his malignant junta of corporate greed and austerity fc are taking us all for mugs , the season ticket holders mugs have given carte blanch to Desmond to do what he wants not what we have expressed what we want which is strengthening the squad, stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
Spot on yet again Che. DD and his minions don’t give a toss, as long as season ticket cash is in. I don’t understand how people can profess to love something so much, but refuse to do the only thing that can change it. Ok, at first you can bury your head in the sand, and refuse to give up your beyond value season ticket, totally understandable, but after 20 years of seeing your club shackled, and the planned sabotage of the past few years, you’re not even paying for the very thing you loved and valued, only a pale imitation. Make no mistake the direction of travel is always down, this won’t change, and more than a few of us predicted the present situation months ago, it really took no great insight.
No pain no gain, enjoy watching your shadow team from under the sand.
They better start putting the fences back up and reinforcing the doors!
