GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - AUGUST 13: Rangers manager Derek McInnes reacts during the UEFA Europa League 2026/27 third qualifying round second leg match between Rangers FC and Jagiellonia Bialystok at Ibrox Stadium on August 13, 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland. (Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images)
Well, just as I predicted in my article on this massive week for Staunch Del, the Ibrox side are Europa Conference League bound for the first time in their short 14 year history.
Del’s side huffed and puffed, but they couldn’t blow the Jagiellonia house down.
Drawing level on aggregate through an early goal from a Lawrence Shankland penalty, the Ibrox side had the lead on the night.
But in the 65th minute of the second half, Jagiellonia drew level on the night, and went ahead on aggregate through a Nik Prelec header.
Frankly, I couldn’t give a monkey’s about the ins and outs of the game.
All I care about is the fact that Staunch Del is on target for the worst start from an Ibrox manager, ever.
Russell Martin had that accolade, but Del is fast closing in on it.
Sunday’s League Cup game against St. Mirren is now a critical fixture for the beleaguered platform brogue, slicked back hair, tanned, real Raynjurz laddie since he was in nappies, manager.
Lose that one, and methinks he be f*****d.
Over on Follow Follow, the game is up.
Things are looking pretty ominous for Del:

The place will be empty on Sunday.
What’s all that best fans in Britain pish, then?
McInnes is a dead man walking already according to fraserbear.

And you know what? He’s right.
Fan pressure always wins at Ibrox, and if Del loses on Sunday, fan pressure will be off the scale.
It get’s better though:

Butch 70 kind of hits the nail on the head with his comment.
He has a picture of Brick top Tony from Snatch as his profile, I can just hear Tony right now, ‘In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary, cum again?’
But Waddell’sWinners is bang on too, St. Mirren will hump these losers at Ibrox on Sunday.

And they’ll be exactly what JMCK says they were tonight:

Yeah, the old comfort blanket.
I’d drop that alright.
Staunch Del’s blazer is on a shoogly peg and his platform brogues are stuck in dug shite.
I could stay at this all night.
But I’ll wait.
Sunday could be even more fun, so I’ll hold fire till then.
For all those poor bears out there, I’ll leave you with this:

Don’t worry ’bout a ting.
There’s a long. long season of misery and multiple managers ahead.
The gift that keeps on giving.
Never stop.
Please, don’t ever stop.
P.S. Congrats to Hibs and Motherwell for getting through their respective Europa Conference League qualifiers tonight!
You could soon be joined by Jurgen Flop’s flops!

What comes first the tin tack or his touchline ban ?
The bloke in the video is almost as good a singer as Derek.
Del has nice shoes.
Come, come now, Eric, I’m offering you a chance to be friends again.
The gentlemanly way would be to take it.
