Celtic accepting a late deadline day bid for Camilo Duran? Nothing would shock me with this board…

If a dealine day offer came in for Camilo Duran today based on his performances of late, do you really think the Celtic board would ‘boot it out’?

Nothing would shock me with these vulture capitalists in charge of our club.

Camilo Duran has been an absolute revelation for Celtic so far this season.

He doesn’t do boring when it comes to goals, that’s for sure.

Last night’s stunning strike against Aberdeen is proof positive of that much.

My message to you all would be to enjoy it while it lasts, because it won’t last long.

People are starting to sit up and take notice already.

Néstor Lorenzo being one of them.

Duran has already done enough to impress the Colombian national team head coach.

Lorenzo has called him up to his squad for their upcoming friendly against Mexico in Maryland, in the U.S.

Now, you might think that it’s too early in his time at Celtic for other clubs to be taking notice, but you’d be wrong there.

Because it’s the quality of Duran’s goals that will attract attention, and the way he goes about scoring them.

His positional play is also a defender’s nightmare, and when you play against blanket defences like we do in Scotland, it makes it all the more impressive.

I can just imagine Michael Nicholson jumping out of his skin with joy when Duran smashed in his goal last night.

Nicholson was probably already feeling well chuffed with himself after what he would consider an overwhelmingly successful transfer window.

For him and the board anyway.

£20 million profit and ten players in the door, half of which could be gone by this time next year, or more if he gets his way.

Because it wasn’t the quality of Camilo Duran’s goal that will have warmed the cockles of Silent Mike’s heart, no.

It will be the fact that he already knows that Duran will leave Celtic for a record fee.

Silent Mike is probably already quietly enjoying a pay increase as a result of his world class management of transfers this summer.

Which we’ll most likely see in the upcoming set of club accounts.

After his stellar performance in this summer’s world class transfer window, I’m pretty sure he’ll be in line for a nice bonus too.

Bearing that in mind, I’m sure he’s jizzing his pants already at the thoughts of what Camilo Duran could make the club, and him, of course.

In fact, as I said at the outset and in the headline, he’d probably trip over himself if an offer came in for Duran before tonight’s deadline.

After this summer’s transfer window, it’s clear the boards insatiable desire for profits over players knows no bounds.

Dermot Desmond must be beside himself.

LASK is now but a distant memory.

Just consider yourselves lucky that Camilo Duran isn’t going in this window…
