I think we can all agree right now that Celtic is in a pretty bad place.
I think we can also agree that we are at a point where we can no longer work around the mess at the club, we now have to plough straight through it, and tackle it head on.
Because Celtic cannot continue on the trajectory it is on at this current juncture.
We are at a crossroads, and there are only two ways that this can go now.
Firstly, we can continue blindy onward on the path we find ourselves on.
At this point in time, I’m sure we all know where that is going to lead.
Secondly, we can push, and push extremely hard for change at Celtic.
Doing this will not be easy, because in order to enact change at Celtic, we are going to have to suffer some short-term pain
That could entail us winning little to nothing in the immediate future.
The question is, does anybody want to do this?
Well, the answer to that is pretty straightforward, whichever choice we make here is going to result in short-term pain.
The Celtic board only operates in the short-term.
So, the way things are going right now, it is inevitable that we are going to experience short-term pain one way or another.
In reality, short-termism at Celtic is sending us hurtling headlong in to long-term pain.
There is a very distinct possibility we could end up winning nothing at Celtic this season
Dermot Desmond is determined that he is going to war with the Celtic Fans Collective after what happened on Saturday at St. Andrews.
In 1994, Desmond first invested money in Celtic.
£4 million.
He was installed as a Non-executive director in 1995, 31 years ago.
In 1995, Celtic won it’s first trophy since the centenary season.
I lived through the 90’s.
Honestly, I do not want to face an era like that again.
But it seems to me that Dermot Desmond is hell bent on doing a full 360 with this club and sending right back to where it was 31 years ago
In the early 1990’s, the Celtic fanbase despised the board of the Kelly’s and the Whites.
But I’ve actually heard well placed people in fan media state today that they think we are now officially in the worst days Celtic has seen under any Celtic board since our club began.
That might seem over the top when we look at where we are right now.
People might like to focus on the fact we’re 2 points clear at the top of the League and we have £65 million in the bank.
What they refuse to focus on is the continued downward trajectory our club has been on since that night in Munich.
Our poor business in the transfer window just gone has allowed the Ibrox club to become contenders with the momentum in this title race.
The worst case scenario here is that they win the League and then go all out to get into the Champions League.
And believe me, they won’t hesitate to finance that venture should it present itself to them
If that happens, they will leave us for dust.
That £65 million in the bank?
That will become £45 million or less very quickly.
So, I’ll put it this way to you, are you prepared to accept that for Celtic under Desmond’s faux “ownership”?
Are you prepared to go back to the days where the Ibrox side lord it over us?
And remember this, there was no social media in the 90’s, just a succulent lamb filled media
The pile on has been incessant since they won back to back games just over a fortnight ago.
Just imagine what that will be like if they’re allowed to win the title?
This incarnation of the “Rangers” is far worse than what we were up against in the 90’s.
Are you happy to allow them to become dominant in the Scottish game again?
Because that’s what’s coming down the tracks unless we make a stand.
If we’re going to do that, we need to do it now.
Allowing Desmond to continue his reign of error is only going to end one way.
And it sure as hell won’t be like the happy ending we had last season.
We’re at the crossroads.
One road leads back to the 90’s.
The other road leads to the greatness Celtic deserves.
Which will we take?
Well, that’s up to you, isn’t it?
The clock is ticking…

Desmond the malignant absentee landlord jumped up tinpot dictator, will kill Celtic rather than let the fans have even the tiniest say in the governance of the club , the only course of action for the fans is clear even if its unpalatable, we need to stop every single penny going into the club ,Desmond must be stopped we must bring the whole Desmond edifice crashing down by using his weakness Money, stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
Said the very same, let that lot in and they will bury us
I’ve said it elsewhere, but pipping Hearts to the title last season might end up being worse in the long term than Hearts winning it would have been. If they had won it, the drive from us to remove the parasites on the board would have been unstoppable, but at least the title wouldn’t have gone to Ibrox, where they would’ve then spent all their winnings ensuring they qualified for the Champions League. Given the once-in-a-generation nature of the title leaving Glasgow, it’s also likely that would’ve convinced TV companies to offer a better deal to the SPFL. I do wonder whether the board would’ve been so quick to sack Nancy if it had been just us and the Ibrox club in contention for the title like in the 10IAR season and Hearts hadn’t pushed us all the way, or, as with Lennon, they would’ve allowed him to stay until it was impossible for us to win the title.
