Celtic haveĀ been drawn with Raith Rovers at Celtic Park for the upcoming Scottish League Cup third round earlier this afternoon.
It will be the second time in three years that the two sides have been paired together, as they met at the same stage of the same competition back in 2012, where Neil Lennon’s Hoops ran out comprehensive 4-1 winners.
The tie is set to be played on either September 22/23, with the winner progressing to the quarter-final stage in October.
Elsewhere in the draw, Celtic’s Old Firm rivals Rangers were paired with St Johnstone at Ibrox, a clash that is set to be a rematch of last year’s League Cup quarter-final where the Championship side defeated Tommy Wright’s men 1-0.
League rivals Aberdeen have been paired with Alan Stubbs’ Hibernian at Easter Road, which will provide the Hibees with a good chance to test their SPFL credentials.
Top-of-the-table Hearts have been sent to bottom-of-the-table Kilmarnock, with Robbie Neilson’s men looking to carry their fine start to the season into the cup competitions.
