Since his summer move from Hibernian, Scott Allan’s chances to play for Celtic have been few and far between for a number of reasons.
The 23-year-old made the move from Edinburgh to Glasgow to link up with the Premier League champions, and has had to deal with injuries as well as factor in a new diet and training programme to help cope with his diabetes.
Now that the hype of joining Scotland’s biggest club has faded he is ready to kick on and begin making an impact, starting this Saturday if he’s given the chance.
Ronny Deila has used Allan sparingly so far and an injury kept him out of selection for six weeks.

Now that he is back in contention and has impressed in his previous three substitute appearances, Allan is ready to show what he can do.
Speaking to the media earlier today during Celtic’s visit to Glasgow’s new Royal Hospital for Children where players handed out gifts and donated £3,000, Allan said:
I’m feeling good fitness wise considering I hadn’t played as much, but the intensity in training gives me a good fitness level to go in and play.
When I came here I knew I would have to improve defensively which I’ve tried to add to my game. That means getting a really good work ethic about my game when we lose the ball, but for me I like to go out and try to create chances so hopefully I can do that.
Allan might have the final Europa League game against Fenerbahce in his mind for his first start in a Hoops jersey, but wants it to happen sooner.
I’d just take the Hamilton game as the first game and if I do well then we’ll see what happens if given the chance.
I’ve come back worked hard on the training pitch and been given the chance to try and prove what I can give in a Celtic shirt.
Obviously with a few players out with injuries there are a few spaces available, so given the chance I just need to try and make it my own.
