Stefan Johansen isn’t in the squad for Celtic’s second leg tie against Hapoel Be’er Sheva and never travelled with the squad.
Footage of the squad training appeared on the club’s YouTube page showed a 23-man-squad that didn’t include the Norwegian.
Johansen has only made one appearance under Brendan Rodgers so far and his only other involvement in the match day squad was against Hearts when he was an unused substitute.
Rodgers has analysed his bloated squad and trimming it where necessary in order to tailor the squad to his needs.
The midfielder was also given leave from the squad last month following the birth of his child.
His omission from the squad for Tuesday’s crucial game is the clearest indicator yet that his future lies away from Paradise.
