The winter break is well and truly over as Celtic look to get their league defence back on track away to Kilmarnock on Wednesday evening.
The Hoops ended the first half of the season with an uncharacteristic and disappointing performance against Rangers as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
However, after a few weeks away in Dubai as well as a commanding victory against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup at the weekend, the aforementioned defeat must be put to the back of their minds.
Wednesday’s oppostion had their own disappointing winter period, given their impressive campaign last season.
Prior to the weekend’s cup game against Queen’s Park, Killie had failed to score since 30th November and a run of seven games without a win.
That all changed at the weekend, where they put six past Queen’s Park, with veteran Scotland winger, Chris Burke, grabbing all six assists.
Despite this, the former Rangers man is not our opposition dangerman, it’s a former Hoop.

It’s questionable having a defender as a dangerman, but with Kilmarnock struggling for goals in the league, it seems plausible to suggest Killie’s biggest threat will be their star centre-half.
Findlay returned from injury at the weekend and struck up a solid partnership with former Premier League player, Alex Bruce.
The young Scotsman is not only a presence in defence, but he actually bags a few goals himself, scoring 10 from defence during his time with the club, something which is rare in this Killie side.
The Hoops will need to keep an eye on Eamonn Brophy, who usually turns up for these big games, but it looks like Celtic’s toughest task will be getting through the Killie backline.
