Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed he is looking to strengthen his squad amid reports the Blades are interested in a move for Celtic and Rangers target Tyrese Campbell.
According to the Daily Record, the Premier League high-flyers are ready to “gazump” the duo in the race for Campbell, who is available on a cross border compensation fee of £400,000 for Celtic and Rangers.
However the Blades are willing to pay a “significant” sum for Campbell this month to see off competition from the Scottish duo.
Furthermore, the report quotes Wilder as stating how he is looking to strengthen with “one or two” signings this week, suggesting interest in Campbell has substance.

READ CELTIC VERDICT
Wilder’s interest in Campbell and apparent willingness to pay a “significant” fee for him this month is a blow for Celtic in our view.
The striker has been tipped by former manager Sam Ricketts to succeed at Celtic if he completed a move to Parkhead, according to The Scotsman.
Furthermore a fee of around £400,000 is something the club are likely to be willing to pay, given how reports in the Stoke Sentinel suggested the Hoops have already “informed Stoke City of their intention to hold pre-contract talks” with him.”
However given how Celtic have already spent £3.5million on fellow striker Patryk Klimala, we feel it’s highly unlikely that the Hoops will rival the Blades’ supposedly big offer for Campbell.
