Leeds United have agreed a deal for Celtic target Ian Poveda.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that the Whites have struck a deal with Manchester City for the 19-year-old attacker.

They claim that the Whites have beaten Italian outfit Torino in the race to sign Poveda, who is out of contract with City at the end of the season.

The Hoops have been credited with an interest in the in-demand winger, however, it looks as if the youngster is now heading to Yorkshire to link up with Marcelo Bielsa.

Plenty of Celtic fans weren’t so keen on a move for Poveda when the Hoops’ reported interest first broke, and we don’t think missing out on the teenager should come as a major blow.

Did you want to see Poveda move to Celtic?

Yes

No

Yes, the Hoops have lost Scott Sinclair to Preston and also look set to lose Lewis Morgan to Inter Miami, but we don’t think Neil Lennon will be losing any sleep over missing out on Poveda.

He could’ve been a shrewd signing further down the line in our opinion, however, with Karamoko Dembele and Jonathan Afolabi progressing nicely in the Reserves, we feel as though Celtic are fairly well-stocked in the young winger department at this moment in time.
