Celtic fans react to Frimpong’s injury vs Kilmarnock
Many Celtic supporters were left unhappy despite Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock, following Jeremie Frimpong’s injury.
The full-back produced another bright performance and assisted Odsonne Edouard for the opening goal of the game with an excellent burst of pace down the right, before crossing to find the Frenchman in the area.
Goals from Leigh Griffiths and Christopher Jullien saw the Hoops return to league action in fine fettle, but one incident late on threatened to put a dampener on proceedings.
Frimpong was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Alan Power, and was subsequently stretchered off after a long stoppage while he received treatment from the club’s medical team.
And while the Daily Record quoted the Celtic boss as stating his belief that Frimpong could be back for this weekend, Lennon has since confirmed that the full-back will not be fit for Saturday’s clash with Ross County.
🗣️ NL: "@JeremieFrimpong won’t be fit for tomorrow. He’s had a scan and we are waiting on the results. We don’t think it’s as bad as we first anticipated.”
