As we edge towards the middle of February, excitement begins to build.
And we don’t meant pre-Valentines Day excitement, oh no. We’re excited as it’s nearly time for EA Sports’ winter upgrade on FIFA 20 and the time for the ratings upgrade.
According to Goal, that update could arrive on Valentines Day on Friday, given how EA released their first batch of upgrades on Friday 15th February last year.
So any plans for a romantic weekend away may have to be scrapped, or equally worked into those Valentines plans.
It’s safe to say a number of supporters were not happy with some of the ratings dished out to Celtic players when the game was released at the start of the season.
So ahead of the new winter update, which will see ratings, stats and some players’ position on the game changed, I’ve taken a look at five Celtic players who could be in for a rating boost.
Celtic’s main man so far this season. If his rating doesn’t increase then there’s something wrong with the game.
The Frenchman has scored over 30 goals for club and country this season, not to mention his 16 assists (Transfermarkt), and he has to be given a boost in my opinion.
How he’s a 74 rated player I’ll never know.
Ryan Christie - Current: 75, Read Celtic prediction: 78
Christie is another who has flourished this season, with 17 goals and 14 assists thus far in all competitions (Transfermarkt), and another who deserves a rating boost in my view.
The Great Wall has well and truly returned to his best form this season, with Football Insider reporting earlier this campaign that he is valued by Southampton at a fee around £25million.
And that upturn in form means he deserves a big rating boost.
Frimpong has burst onto the scene this season following his arrival last summer, and he is another who has been valued in the £25m region by teammate Scott Brown (The Herald).
Given how he is now a regular for Celtic (Transfermarkt), I feel as though he deserves a bump up in rating.
Christopher Jullien - Current: 73, Read Celtic prediction: 77
Jullien has been a consistent figure since his arrival last summer, making 37 appearances in total (Transfermarkt) and winning more duels than any of his Celtic teammates so far this season, the Hoops revealed on their Twitter account.
Therefore his form deserves some recognition in the form of an upgrade.
