Zinedine Zidane ‘recommends’ Odsonne Edouard as possible Real Madrid signing

Odsonne Edouard has been linked with a Celtic exit for some time now.

Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus have both expressed an interest in the French forward recently, with the Hoops reportedly dropping their January asking price for the Frenchman to £25m.

The 23-year-old has now been linked with a stunning switch to Spain to join Real Madrid. According to Defensa Central, cited by Sport Witness, former Ballon d’Or winner and Bernabeu manager Zinedine Zidane has recommended the player to the La Liga giants.

The report added that Celtic have failed to agree on a new contract with Edouard, with his current deal set to expire in 2022.

Plenty of clubs appear to like what they see in Edouard, and we feel as if the Hoops should cash in this month, providing they receive a suitable offer.

Reports last year claimed that Celtic would need to sell some of their prized assets due to the club’s £13m drop in turnover for the 2019/20 financial year.

Parting ways with Edouard should bring in a relatively high fee, providing Celtic get a figure near their valuation.

The Premiership looks all but gone with the Hoops 21 points adrift, and with Edouard scoring just three times in his last 11 league appearances, this month could be the perfect opportunity to start a summer rebuild.
