Charlie Nicholas has backed Celtic as heading in the right direction under the fresh guidance of Ange Postecoglou and has stuck up for the Australian tactician.
Celtic came away with their second away win on the bounce at Fir Park following a 2-0 victory over Motherwell to add to a similar victory over Aberdeen.
Postecoglou has been noted for adding an attractive, possession-based and intense style of play to the Bhoys, but Celtic have long-suffered from issues to away form.
Prior to their Aberdeen win, Celtic had not won on the road since February – an issue that has thankfully been rectified.
Resultingly, Nicholas feels that there is cause for optimism at Celtic and has stuck up for Postecoglou.
He wrote in his Daily Express column [via Daily Record]: “Celtic look a lot more promising and they look like they will be Rangers’ main challengers again. They have won two away games at Aberdeen and Motherwell.
“I wouldn’t say they have built up real momentum, but it has been a start.
“Ange Postecoglou now looks to be getting a bit of strength on his bench and the signs are more encouraging.
“Christopher Jullien is also close to coming back, although I think it will take him a good few games to get up to speed.
“Things are a lot more positive and it would be good if he could get a win against the Hungarians of Ferencvaros in the Europa League.
“It has been a good weekend for Celtic and if they can win in Europe that will build the confidence further.”

The away wins can act as a real catalyst for future success and certainly could act as the start of a run of good league momentum.
Celtic are closing the gap with Rangers at the top of the table and the return of key player such as Jullien, as noted by Nicholas, will surely buoy the Bhoys in terms of depth.
Ferencvaros in the Europa League is certainly a litmus test as to whether Celtic can cope with the pressures of midweek football, and returning players are vital in ensuring that good form can continue.
