There has been a lot of discussion over the future of Celtic left-back Josip Juranovic over the past week, as it seems as if the player will be in demand this summer, as clubs might well be interested in signing the Croatian international.

Now an update of sorts has been provided by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the man who discloses in the first place that the player could leave Celtic this summer.

Romano took to Twitter to declare that ‘as of today’ Atletico Madrid have not made an offer to the Hoops for the full-back.

It was recently reported by Sky Sports News’ Lyall Thomas that the La Liga side were keen on signing the Celtic star.

On the one hand, it can only be seen as a good thing for Celtic that the team’s players are attracting the attention of a big club in Europe, as it shows that the Hoops are doing something right when it comes to transfers.

On the other hand though, the obvious downside is that it might lead to some of Celtic’s most important players leaving the club if the price is right, and Juranovic is undeniably one of the most important players at Celtic Park.

Hopefully Celtic can keep the player in Glasgow for at least one more season, but that might be all the time that the players spends at the club, as if Juranovic can maintain his level of performance in his second season at Celtic Park, then clubs will surely bid for the former Legia Warsaw man.

If Juranovic did leave the Hoops next summer, after helping the Hoops win two league titles in a row, then there wouldn’t be much complaints from the Celtic support, as the player would have helped the team get back to the top of the league, and the Bhoys also would have time to scout a replacement.

However, should Juranovic league in the next two months, then fans might well be upset as the Hoops would not only be losing a great player but would have to rush into the transfer market for a replacement.
