Aaron Mooy, who joined Celtic on a two-year deal earlier this week, seems delighted about heading to Glasgow and teaming up with his former Australian national team manager Ange Postecoglou at Celtic Park.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who was a free agent after leaving Shanghai Port, has spoken out about joining the Hoops on the club’s official Twitter account.

A year after being linked with a move to Celtic, the former Huddersfield star can’t wait to get started in Glasgow.
It’s an amazing feeling. I’m just so happy to be here, and it’s a massive club with a huge history and I want to be a part of it, so I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.

It perhaps seemed inevitable that Aaron Mooy would one day join Celtic, as he has been linked with the Hoops almost since Ange Postecoglou was appointed as Celtic manager.

With the exit of Tom Rogic at the end of last season, the Hoops were needing to bring in another midfielder, and although Mooy is a different type of player to his fellow Australian, the Hoops must have felt that the player can add something to the Celtic squad going forward.
It might take Mooy a while to feature for the Hoops as he hasn’t played football for a while, but he could turn out to be an important player for the team in season 2022/23, as he could do a job in the middle of the park both defensively and offensively.
That is what Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that the player can do, and Celtic fans should have faith that Mooy will do well in his time at the club, as the Hoops boss not only knows the player well, but he has had tremendous success for the most part when it comes to the signings he has made as Celtic manager so far.

Mooy might not start every game for Celtic this season, as the Hoops have a lot of midfielders to choose from, but he could still prove to be a very influential player for the club both domestically and in Europe, and it can only be a good thing that he sounds thrilled to have moved to Celtic Park at this stage in his career.
