Who would you rate as Ange’s best signing in this transfer window?
It’s been a busy transfer window so far since it opened for business back at the start of June.
Ange Postecoglu has been hard at work, strengthening an already excellent squad and according to reports yesterday, he’s still not finished.
With the new season almost upon us, there’s a lot to be excited about and some of our new additions are sure to add to that excitement.
So, I thought I’d set up a duel to find out who, you the fans, think is our best signing of this window so far.
With seven players signed so far, I’ll do a little piece on each of them and then you can decide which one you think was the best piece of business in this window so far.
All you have to do is go through the duels, selecting your ‘winner’ from each match up. That winner continues into the next duel, to be pitted against another new signing. If he’s still your winner, select again. If not, choose the other person in the duel.
It’s as easy as that at!

Benjamin Siegrist

A shrewd bit of business, Siegrist was brought in on a free transfer from Dundee United. Without doubt one of the best ‘keepers in the Scottish Premiership and one that regularly frustrated us, he will be an excellent back up to Joe Hart and may even challenge him for the starting berth.
Alexandro Bernabei

Signed from Lanus for £3.75 million, Bernabei looks like an excellent prospect and will be the second available option for the left-back position. The Argentinian was a regular for Lanus in the Argentinian Primera Liga. One to watch this coming season.
Moritz Jenz

Jenz joined Fulham at the age of 16 and spent 5 years with the club before joining Swiss side Lausanne and then moving onto Lorient in the Ligue 1. A tall, strong central defender, he has come in on a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan period. Expect big things from this guy, who claims he already kept Lionel Messi in his pocket!
Daizen Maeda

Maeda was brought in on loan last January and after an impressive half season for the club, Celtic decided to make his signing permanent. With lightning pace, he scored 8 goals in the second half of the season. He has already hit the ground running in pre-season, scoring today against Norwich and during the week against Legia Warsaw. Expect big things from him in 2022/23.
Felipe Jota

A star performer during his loan spell last season. The option to buy at the end of his spell was activated and the club paid £6.5 million to Benfica for his services. A no brainer in my eyes!
Cameron Carter-Vickers

Similar to Jota, Carter-Vickers joined on loan from Tottenham, with an option to buy at the end of the loan. Rock solid in defence all of last season and an excellent piece of business for £6 million after Celtic activated his loan to buy option.
Aaron Mooy

Mooy was a long term target of the club, especially after Ange Postecoglu came in. A player that Ange rates highly from his Australia days, he has prior experience of the Premier League in England with Huddersfield and Brighton. He will be expected to help toughen up our midfield which was found wanting a few times towards the back end of last season.
