Will Ferrell would get the shock of his life at Ibrox when he realises what the locals think of his heritage, and the fact he’s worn Celtic shorts

So the spin gets spun farther and farther today, with Will Ferrell the latest Hollywood superstar to be linked with the San Francisco 49ers supposed acquisition of the Ibrox club.
Here is the latest headline from the Record, it has to be read to be believed:

So Will Ferrell is SET for a R*****s takeover?
I’m assuming the Record spoke to him and confirmed this?
And that he actually told them he wants to be part of this supposed takeover?
Seriously, you couldn’t make this up.
If Will Ferrell somehow decided he wanted to become involved in a takeover like this, he would be in for the shock of his life when he attended his first Glasgow Derby.
To understand why, just read this excerpt from the from the online magazine, Irish America:
Ferrell is very proud of his Irish roots. In a previous interview with Irish Central to promote The Other Guys, he said, “I’ve been [to Ireland] six or seven times. The last trip I toured around with my brother and my Dad for two weeks and we ended with the James Joyce award.

This is something he does quite a lot.
So, for a guy who is very proud of his Irish roots, a trip to Ibrox on derby day could very well appall him once he hears a few of their wonderful ditties being sung.
Now, let’s be honest here, an awful lot of this is the Record getting over excited.
Ferrell and his Hollywood friends ain’t stupid.
If, and once again, this is a big IF, the Ibrox side are bought up by the San Francisco 49ers, I’m sure Ferrell would do his due diligence on the kind of football club he’s buying into.
Ferrell was also spotted wearing a pair of Celtic shorts with his Ireland Rugby jersey during one of his Irish visits.
For an American who is proud of his Irish roots, getting involved in the Ibrox side isn’t a wise idea.
Once the klanbase found out about his Irish connections, they’d be pretty quick to let him know.
Ferrell’s reaction, due to his lack of understanding about the rivalry, could be as hilarious as it is dangerous.
Either way, more moonbeams are being sold by the Record today.
It’s highly unlikely the Parks are going to play ball in this deal.
It has all the hallmarks of Honest Dave.
And Honest Dave is probably using his useful idiot in the Record, Keith Jackson, to peddle this fantasy.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops over the coming days.
It will either die a death, or it will happen.
I suspect it won’t be the latter.
Because things at Ibrox just aren’t that simple.
They never are.

It has crossed my mind a few times that there must be large’tax ‘ advantages for foreign money investors parting with their dough into business ventures in the UK and in Scotland in particular…very nice , friendly , comfy , tax breaks , thank you very much ? Because why else would you shovel money into a bankrupt football clumpany whose previous entity was a liquidated ,cheating , non tax paying organisation known throughout the entire world for its sharp working practices,on an industrial scale ? But rest assured , Inaction and his fellow sport scoops at the daily Record will be asking pertinent and probing questions about the ‘ cleanliness ‘ of any possible foreign investment to the appropriate people , like the thorough scoops they are . No stone left unturned thingy ! Won’t they ? Maybe the football governing bodies in wee Scotland will do the same in tandem with the SMSM ? Now is the time for competent financial professional examiners to earn their fat salaries . Sales of ‘ fine tooth combs ‘ should do well .
