Well, well, well, it didn’t take long for an Ibrox board member to speak out about the San Francisco 49ers proposed takeover, did it? It just so happens that the only one speaking out about it is “Honest” David Cunningham King.
Late Friday evening, the Record revealed that the glib and shameless liar has had a “crucial role” in bringing the 49ers to the table.
Now the fact that Dave King is involved in this smacks of only one thing.
He’s desperate to re-coup what’s owed to him after he sunk his “vast” fortune into stopping 10IAR back in season 2020/21.
King was at pains to point out that NO deal has been secured yet.
In other words, this whole thing is now hinging on the glib and shameless liar’s word.
A word which has proven to be be pretty hard to trust over the years.
Just ask the South African government what they think about the word of Dave King?

And his honesty for that matter
I would imagine that the Celtic board drew a sigh of relief when King’s involvement and his dream of leaving a “lasting legacy” was revealed on Friday evening.
Not that they should be bothered about this at all.
No, more because they know now they won’t have to spend vast fortunes on players in the summer transfer window.
What is clearly emerging here is that King contacted pulitzer prize winning journalist Keith Jackson.
He then fed this “amazing” story to him.
Jackson, being the gullible fool that he is, jumped on it like the proverbial journo who hears that a billionaire with wealth off the radar is about to take over his favourite football club.
And this “exclusive” has just grown and grown since then.
What was it Adolf Hitler said back in the day?
“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”
After yesterday’s result against St. Mirren at Ibrox, the Dave King American Dream is the only thing they have left to cling to.
The media will keep feeding it to them.
But you can rest assured, the real story will be revealed in the coming weeks.
What adds to the hilarity in all of this, is the fact they were waving American flags in the crowd yesterday.
By the end of the game, the stands were emptied.
All the hope garnered from the great American fakeover couldn’t halt the reality of the shitshow that they had just witnessed.
Philippe Clement looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights in his post match media conference.
He felt his side were nervous.
Clement stated it was the worst performance he’d witnessed from the team.
Now either guy has a selective memory or he’s senile.
Because to erase the result from two weeks ago against Queens Park from his memory banks?
Well, that’s an amazing feat to be capable of.
If there were any of the supposed American contingent in the stands yesterday, I would imagine they left Ibrox scratching their heads.
The fact that not one other director on the Ibrox board has spoken about this supposed takeover seems to be something the media are happy to ignore.
And as I alluded to earlier, when you consider that Dave King is the only one who has, then alarm bells should be ringing all over the place.
But the gullibillies won’t see it that way.
More to the point, they refuse to see it that way.
They only see what they want to see.
And what they see now is their Sugar Daddy riding in to save the day.
With the stars and stripes billowing out behind him.
They believe the American dream is on it’s way, when it reality, that’s all it may turn out to be.
A dream.
If there is one thing the Americans are renowned for, it’s doing their due diligence.
Or as I said in one of Friday’s articles, taking a look under the hood.
And when they look under the hood at Ibrox, I’m pretty sure they’ll be in for a few shocks.
I’m also sure that they’ll be pretty gobsmacked at the amount of soft loans the Ibrox directors have put into the club.
And Americans being Americans, they may choose to be ruthless on that one.
What I mean by that, is that they may not be willing to pay the directors exactly what they feel they’re owed.
They may just put take it or leave it offers on the table.
Or, at the risk of using more American terminology, they could look to play hardball.
Ultimately, it depends on the level of desperation the Ibrox directors have to get themselves out of this mess.
Of course, all of this is speculation by me.
Just like it’s all speculation by the media, who have taken this story and run with it.
In reality, the only concrete evidence they have that anything is happening is from Dave King.

Now, would you trust the word of the glib and shameless one?
I, for one, can never trust someone who can’t look straight at me.
Or looks like they’re looking at me when they’re not.
Or doesn’t look like they’re looking at me when they are.
Confusing, yeah I know, but you catch my drift.
That’s what you get with Dodgy Dave King.
Developing story?
Or developing non-story?
Only time will, but I suspect the latter will be the most likely outcome.
The Celtic board can rest easy.
The bank balance is safe….
For now.
This whole story is complete garbage, king is desperate and has been for some time anyone with half a brain cell can see that this is a distressed company dying a slow lingering death with a very predictable ending. The peepo who have bailed this tribute act out with their cash can’t afford to sell their shares low and have to stay in to try and salvage their cash, to do this the Rangers have to be run almost as if they are in administration but much worse and for a very very long time . But as this happens we can all enjoy the show and enjoy the many many tears of laughter and Keith jackass and the dead record in their death throws, happy days.
I think there’s something in it… but only as far as King will hoodwink these ‘investors’ into buying his shares. So HE gets his money and not one penny goes into the club. And it will be hailed as ‘significant investment’ in rangers, a ‘vote of confidence in their future’, Dodgy Dave will claim he’s done this great piece of work for rangers then when nothing good comes of this he will say he set it up and nothing to do with him what happened after this ‘investment’. He’ll cash in, nothing Will change, and he’ll come out smelling of roses.
Has any journalist actually tried to contact the 49ers for comment on this supposed takeover ??
Aye Joe, apart from the GandSL there’s been no actual quotes from anyone at 49ers, Paratha, the mystery investor that gets round the owning two clubs rule or the actual hun directors, I suspect ST renewals are behind huns board keeping quiet but huns with stars and stripes at the bigotdome is hilarious desperation
Can theRangers now claim 5 NFL Superbowl titles to their history? Asking for a friend. 🍀🍀
There were around 49 bears still inside Ibroxland at end of play yesterday when St Mirren were the latest club to defeat theRangers at home ! Looks like King is Inaction’s ‘ source ‘ he was talking about the other day feeding him tales from the USA ..playing him like a fiddle ? Inaction was then toasted and boasted by his own daily Record scoops for revealing that there was ‘ talks ‘ of a possible buyout / takeover/spending spree , right after Queens Park pumped theRangers in the Scottish cup and Celtic returned to the European top table once again …yes , talks ! Soon be time for another daily Record price increase due to it’s stupendous scooping !
Between James’ article yesterday and a Dundee utd mate of mine I’ve settled on the new name for the ipox team.
SAN FRANSEVCO 2012ERS
@Binkabhoy.
100% on the money, my friend.
The buying up of enough confetti shares will do only one thing.
Allow the Yanks get their hands on the steering wheel, if,and it’s a monumental IF…….They swallow they mountain of debt incurred since the bastard offspring took it’s first steps in the world.
They haven’t turned, as Fergus would say “One thin dime” in profit since their inception, so over £100m to pour into the black hole that is Ibrox.
Then there are the legal fees to set this shitshow up and you can bet yer bottom yankee dollar the G&SL will be passing on these or any other overheads.
As for our board…….It would not surprise me in the slightest if,some time in the future, we learn that CFC had a slush fund hidden from their auditors which kept these orange bastards alive on life support just to meet their own ends.
The whole of Scottish Football is corrupt to the core as witnessed just yesterday at Easter Road.
It might be an idea for the Yanks to bring a division of the FBI to investigate the mechanations of the main players in our game since Legless Dave took over the Stade de Bigot in the 1980’s.

The word ‘fingerprints’ in your headline makes Mr King sound like some kinda criminal,Eric. 🤔
I know you probably didn’t intend to imply that there’s anything less than honest about the great man’s character, but i suspect he might have told the occasional lie.
A Sevco fan i know told me he asked Mr King who was going to make ‘Rangers’ great again when he left. He’s convinced King lied to him,as after an extensive search he could find no trace of anyone called Albie Fuctifano (the name he says King gave him).
Now,either King is a liar or the Sevco fan is thick as mince. Do you think it could possibly be both? 🤔
‘Albie Fuctifano’, brilliant…
