Keevins turns on Barry Ferguson, and expects he’ll be gone regardless of whether he beats Celtic or not on the 4th of May

If you’re a person who likes a flutter at the bookies, I’d advise you to go there now and put your money on Barry Ferguson getting the job on a full time basis at Ibrox. Because when Hugh Keevins tells you it ain’t happening, then believe me, it’s happening.

If Hugh Keevins says it’s going to rain, the sun will be splitting the stones and there won’t be a cloud in the sky.

Nothing this man says ever comes to pass.

So when he says the game against us at Ibrox will be Barry Ferguson’s swansong, then you know what’s coming next, don’t you?

In a rare appearance outside of his normal Sunday garbage piece, Keevins has decided today to put the boot into Bazza in the Record after his Europa League exit on Thursday night.

Basically, it’s a case of you’re no more use to us, now piss off.

Everybody loved Bazza up until the last glimmer of hope of a trophy was cruelly extinguished by Athletic Bilbao.

But before I go any further, you need to look at this:

This was the headline in Keevins’ article last Sunday.

This morning’s article is dripping with the kind of spite and anger you’d expect from someone who has been jilted by their lover.

Effectively, Keevins believes that Bazza has made a twat out of him.

He went out on a limb for him last Sunday by stating that progress in the Europa League was preordained for the Ibrox side.

But he’s so pissed off now that he’s been made a twat of, he took time out of his “busy schedule” to write an off the cuff article to give Bazza a piece of his mind.

No self accountability whatsoever here.

Keevins cannot accept that it is he who made a fool of himself with such a ridiculous prediction.

On the 19th of March last, I predicted in an article that Ernesto Valverde would be Ferguson’s undoing.

Almost a month ago.

Isn’t it funny how we bloggers always seem to be on the money with our predictions?

We always seem to be able to see what the mainstream media can’t.

Why is that?

It isn’t as if we have the kind of sources the likes of Keevins supposedly has, is it?

So why does he always get it so catastrophically wrong?

And then when does, why is there no self accountability?

Look at how he starts his article this morning:

When the narrative turns negative, it’s the end of the story. Out of Europe and still to win a home game at Ibrox after four attempts.

This is how the narrative concerning Barry Ferguson’s time at R*****s flips on its head after losing to Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.

Now, contrast that to this:

Pathetic Bilbao, otherwise known as the Matalan Catalans, will go out of Europe by losing to Rangers in the Basque country next Thursday night.

And, by virtue of their obvious ineptitude, forfeit the chance to contest the Europa League final inside their own stadium next month.

Those were Keevins’ opening lines to his article last Sunday.

You will notice that nowhere in this morning’s article is there a climb down of any sort in relation to that ridiculous prediction.

No such thing as, “Well, I got it wrong last Sunday and I should have known that a wily old campaigner like Ernesto Valverde would have had Barry Ferguson’s number.”

Nope.

Instead, it’s all Bazza’s fault.

And he now deserves my disdain with the likes of this:

The dream of winning a European trophy has given way to the reality of the interim gaffer’s situation at its most basic level.

There can be no more making a virtue out of consistently going two goals behind – seven times in 10 matches to be exact.

No more pretence that being a “Raynjurz man” is a guarantee all will be well.

Well, I guess that’s it then, isn’t it?

Oh, and let’s not forget, Celtic WILL win the title at Tannadice.

Why?

Because Keevins preordained it by mentioning that we could lose there, and then have to play a title decider at Ibrox.

You know it’s a done deal once he sticks his oar in.

Either way, it’s all over for the Bazza express now that Hugh says it.

But we know better, don’t we?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a predicition.

And you know I’m a tad more reliable than Shug, so here it is.

The Fakeover won’t happen, the Ibrox side will post over £20 million in losses in their next set of accounts, and they’ll be so broke, they’ll have no choice but to give the job to Bazza.

Now, if I get this wrong, I won’t blame anybody but myself.

But I’m confident I won’t.

Let’s just hope Shug doesn’t predict we’ll win at Ibrox in two weeks time.
