Here we go! Jamie Vardy to Celtic is on! Well, it is if you believe everything you read in the media today…

Before I start into this article properly, I’m going to say one thing; I do not for one second believe that Jamie Vardy will be a Celtic player before this transfer window shuts.
We are now headed into the last 12 days of this transfer window, still on the hunt for a striker since last January.
Yet, the only name that the media can come up with is Jamie Vardy?
Now just imagine that this name is a steaming pile of horse shit.
What usually happens to a steaming pile of horse shit?
Its gets covered in swarms of flies.
And that’s exactly what this is.
Vardy’s name has attracted every media outlet, both mainstream and fan based, like flies to a steaming pile of horse shit.
Hell, I’m even hovering around the horse shit.
But I’ve got a shovel, and I’m in the process of disposing of it.
Because in reality, that’s all this story is, horse shit.
But unfortunately, that’s the level of farce this window has been reduced to.
We have had almost 7 months since the departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to land a replacement.
Yet, here we are in the last knockings of this summer transfer window, and Jamie fucking Vardy is the best we can come up with?
Now I’m rarely reduced to expletive deletives, but in this case, I can’t hold back.
Because this is what this transfer window has reduced me to.
Jamie Vardy is a 38 year old striker looking for a retirement home.
If Celtic was to be that retirement home, then that is an insult to us, the fanbase.
Back in 2006, when we signed Dion Dublin at the age of 37, it beggared belief.
Even then, I was left scratching my head, asking what was the point to such an acquisition?
The fact that he scored 1 goal, and made just 11 appearances for the club spoke volumes as to what a garbage piece of business his signing was.
It made little to no sense then, just as signing a 38 year old Jamie Vardy will make little to no sense now.
Back then, a lot of people believed Dublin came to Celtic courtesy of his buddy Gordon Strachan.
He worked closely with Strachan during his time at Coventry City, and that part of Dublin’s career was probably his most prolific.
But Brendan Rodgers and Gordon Strachan are two completely different animals.
Rodgers never puts players in the starting line up through favouritism.
He puts them there on merit.
And while he might have had a very good working relationship with Jamie Vardy during his time at Leicester, he is not going to put out a red carpet at Celtic for him just because of that.
Bear in mind that Vardy was 32 when Rodgers became Leicester City manager in 2019.
He still had some good years left him in then.
But 38?
He will be at least a yard or two off the pace.
Brendan Rodgers certainly would not be in the business of providing a retirement home for Vardy.
That is simply not how Rodgers operates.
Sentimentality does not come into it with him.
In fact we know Rodgers is absolutely ruthless when he needs to be.
Bearing that in mind, I sincerely doubt he would sanction the acquisition of Jamie Vardy.
While there’s no doubting that Vardy might do a job up front for Celtic, I’m pretty sure he’s not one of the names on the list of strikers Rodgers presented to the board.
In fact, if we did end up signing him, and that’s a big if, I believe that it would be done entirely out of desperation from the board.
And Rodgers would have very little to do with it.
Nor would he agree to play him purely out of sentimentality.
Because that’s just not how he operates.
The only reason that Vardy is in the news today is because one outlet wrote about it in the last couple of days.
Thus, they created a steaming pile of horse shit, and then all the flies descended on it.
Well, I’m shovelling this shit into a wheel barrow and dumping it.
I won’t be speaking about it again.
Unless it actually happens.
In which case, it won’t be horse shit.
It’ll just be a shit replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi.
Reflective of the shit this board has thrown at us in this transfer window.
Soon be time to throw it back though.

As you mentioned this window has been another wasted opportunity by our board of accountants and I’m really fucked off as are most fans although I did notice we’ve not sold our tickets for tomorrows CL qualifying game with tickets left for 118,119 and 121, I’m hoping other ST like me have sent a message to our board in the only way they understand, not supplying our money to watch a weakened side, I’m not in HCTScheme and I won’t be buying European tickets unless we’ve a miracle last 12 days of the window, even then players should have been brought in a lot earlier to have a proper preseason with teammates and coaches.

Eric, does Michael Nicholson actually have a personality or is he just robotic? As a CEO, his job is to communicate with the purchasing population – the fans, and yet he is incapable of doing so.
Whoever offered this man a contract should be sacked, Desmond!!
To suggest this man is not hardworking is not an issue. His hard work does not provide the Manager with the necessary squad improvements needed. So what is he working hard at doing? I suggest he is playing skinflint politics with Club resources – money. An obsession easily attributed to CEOs in general; it’s called profit, a greed characteristic defined by not spending,
“Let’s see what we can get for nothing”, and how clever is that? It’s not clever, it’s futile embarrassing and degrading to the very principle of good management.
