Dickinson strikes again as the pattern of assistance continues. Its clear Celtic won’t just be up against the opposition in this title race…

In the murky messed up world of Celtic at the moment, we tend to miss some of the things that are going on around us in Scottish football.
Well, it isn’t so much that things are missed, its more a case that our own club is occupying all of our thoughts of late.
It still doesn’t take away from the fact that the Ibrox side has been sneaking their way up the table courtesy of their friends from the Lanarkshire referees association.
Last Sunday, I watched the Dundee v Hearts match from start to finish.
It was decent watch and we discussed it in detail on last night’s Trinity Tims podcast.
It is imperative we understand fully the threat Hearts are to our title aspirations.
I’ve discussed enough of late how important this transfer window is so that we can get the players in required to mount a proper challenge to Hearts.
And they showed us exactly what they were made of last Sunday.
After that game, I continued to stay tuned in for the fixture at Pittodrie between Aberdeen and the Ibrox side.
As soon as I saw that David Dickinson was the referee, I lost interest in watching the game.
As far as I was concerned, it was a foregone conclusion.
Dickinson would somehow influence it, and the Ibrox side would get their obligatory penalty from him.
Needless to say, I wasn’t wrong.
The inevitable penalty award came with 16 minutes remaining.
I’ve looked at the replay of this several times.
In fact, I’m going to include a video below which pretty much sums it up.
To me, Djeidi Gassama, should have been booked for simulation.
Gassama does nothing, from what I can see, other than wrong footing Graeme Shinnie.
When he does, Shinnie puts the brakes on realising what’s happened.
He does not put his boot out, it doesn’t move, in fact, if anything, he retracts it to ensure he avoids contact with Gassama.
Gassama, knowing the penalty is on, allows his boot to trail.
Due to Shinnie’s retraction of his boot, it actually looks like there’s no contact at all.
But Gassama makes a meal of it, and goes down like he’s received a bullet to the head.
From every angle, which you can see in the video provided, it’s very hard to conclude that there was any contact made between Shinnie and Gassama.
What IS entirely conclusive is that Gassama made a total meal of it.
And as we well know, Dickinson does not need much encouragement to award his favourite side a spot kick.
He certainly didn’t last Sunday, that’s for sure.
With John Beaton on VAR, it was never going to be overruled.
Now, I’m not saying Aberdeen would have got anything out of the game because in all honesty, they’re tripe at the moment, but that penalty was as soft a call as you’ll see all season.
We’re going to see many more of those from here on out.
The likes of Dickinson and co. smell blood now.
They know their favourite side is right back in it, and deep down, they also know they’ve aided and abetted that this season.
This is the biggest title fight Celtic have been in in years.
But everybody knows its not just the opposition around us that were up against, it the likes of Dickinson and his Ibrox supporting pals too.
Rest assured, they will do everything in their power to help the Ibrox side from here on out.
You can bet your house on that.

The Celtic Board is “ world class “ in failing to stand up for Celtic and fair play for every team.
They’ve done far more to help the new club than their own club.

It’s disgraceful, they picked up 8-10 points in December alone due to corrupt referees.
These same culprits have been around for around a decade and could be around for another decade. Celtic should be highlighting it constantly instead of ignoring it.
The Rangers complain aggressively and get the refs they want.
I’ve often thought the team penalised should gather in the centre circle,in both halfs, and just stage a 5 minute protest refusing to restart the game. There would probably be cards given out but it would only need to happen at a few different grounds.
Then issue a statement explaining why.
VAR screens should also be shown on stadium screens showing the fans the reason for the decision with the referee’s giving his reason for the decision.
That arsewipe desmond has got to go . I hope and pray a situation arises where he’s got to sell his shares .
I said at the time it was a blatant dive but not highlighted cos it’s sevco and they have got away with penalty decisions all season but back to us and we need to find that winning run to get back on track
