Alright, I may be a little over-exuberant after the way the weekend just past panned out for Celtic, but I can’t help it.
We’re starting to gain momentum now at just the right time.
Everything over the weekend – bar Hearts’ late winner – pretty much went our way.
Daizen Maeda, who was posted absent for most of the season, seems to have appeared out of no where in the last couple of fixtures.
Its almost as if he finally knows what’s at stake here.
For both him and Celtic.
If he wants a move away in the summer, playing like he had been prior to the St. Mirren game at Hampden certainly wasn’t going to earn him one.
If he continues to be as ruthless as he has in the last two fixtures, and his form helps us to the League title, then that will certainly do his prospects no harm when it comes to a move.
Add to that the goalscoring prowess of Kelechi Iheanacho and our chances in these final four fixtures are starting to look very promising.
As for Hugh Keevins’ Champions in waiting?

Well, as I discussed in my early morning article, they succumbed to the pressure of this title race in their first post split fixture.
Two weeks off and a training camp in the sun was all to no avail.
Motherwell outplayed, outfought, and outsmarted them on their own turf, and ultimately showed us all how fragile they are.
If Hugh Keevins is still backing them for the title after that performance?
Well then, all that does is enhance what a Muppet he’s already made of himself up to this point.
A week ago, before a ball was kicked in anger, here is exactly what Shug said about our chances of winning the title this season:
I give Celtic zero per cent chance of winning the Premiership title – and I base that opinion on one, simple observation.
They’re not very good.
Now, I understand there’s still no guarantee we’ll win the title, but I think after the weekend, our chances increased exponentially from “zero per cent”, don’t you?
Not that they were ever at zero per cent.
As I said in my filleting of Keevins’ ridiculous piece last week, you cannot say that a team sitting just 3 points of the top has a zero per cent chance of winning the title.
Especially when Hearts have to come to Celtic Park on final day of the season.
Effectively, though, what Keevins has done here is left himself wide open for ridicule for years to come.
Because if Celtic win this title, his “zero per cent” article will go down in the same kind of infamy as his A N G E article in the Record five years ago.
He will never live that one down.
Just as his fellow colleague, Keith Jackson, will never down live his ‘Billionaire with wealth off the radar‘ article on Keith Jackson back in 2010.
These articles will follow them around for the rest of their journalistic careers.
When anybody thinks of how bad these guys are, all they need do is reference those articles.
There are many reasons I want Celtic to win this title.
As the momentum builds towards the finale of this season, the idea of Celtic winning this one sets the pulse racing.
This will be one of the sweetest triumphs of all if we manage to pull it off.
And all of it will have been achieved despite the damage the Celtic board has caused this season.
There are so many reasons this one will probably be the sweetest since 1998.
Martin O’Neill’s retribution for Helicopter Sunday being another one.
But if we do pull it off, I will be waiting eagerly at my keyboard to quote Hugh Keevins’ “zero per cent” prediction.
It will be the sweetest of takedowns should it come to pass.
So, I’ll park it for now.
I’ll leave it alone either forever more, or until May 16th.

But after the weekend just gone?
I think we can safely say that our chances have moved firmly north of “zero per cent”.
Can’t we?
And lest we forget, Keevins stated that only one out of the three contenders looked likely to win the title.
That contender had their arses handed to them on a plate yesterday by Motherwell.
Keevins’ Champions elect were made to look second best by Jens Berthel Askou’s side.
As for the other two contenders?
Well, by the weekend after next, it might just be a straight two way fight between them.
Much to the dismay of old Shug, I’m sure.
Keep the predictions coming though, Shug.
Even if it’s just for the entertainment factor alone.
The gif that keeps on giving.
The one, the only, Hugh Keevins.

I won’t be able to read old Shug’s column any more as the rag he work’s for has now started charging for letting us read him, or is that only in Scotland? I live in Thailand but am here in Scotland for a short holiday.
Hi Michael, look up a site called Smry. Bookmark it and then copy and paste the link of any paywalled article into it and you’ll be able to read it.
Mr Knott. Have you seen your pal JF recently? I think you should check up on him and get him to calm down. The man is going on like a madman. He mentions Forrest, Scales and McCowan no less than seven times today in his latest rant, Let`s hope, for his sake, that Celtic don`t go overboard (or over the board) and sign some old has- beens like Moravcik , Mooy or Bertie Auld. He wants a new manager in before signing any new players to suit his system: does that mean that if the next manager gets an offer he can`t refuse, like Postecoglou, he will be for the off, leaving Celtic to get rid of a squad that might not fit into the next manager`s system?
How is it that Brendan Rodgers couldn`t fit the likes of Kyogo, Lagerbielke, Bernabeau, Oh and Iwata into his system but then go on a winning run in Saudi Arabia with a motley of has-beens, never wases and retirees that were handed to him on a plate?
