The media is awash with weeping and gnashing of teeth after Celtic’s late penalty win at Fir Park last night, with Tom English leading the way with the platitudes of misery.
The ultimate nightmare has descended on the SMSM.
And the one scenario they always dreaded playing out has come into stark contrast after last night’s 3-2 victory over Motherwell.
In the 94th minute of injury time last night, Celtic were facing into a game on Saturday where the minimum requirement would be a 3-0 victory.
Of all the hurdles Celtic have negotiated throughout this season, that was one the media, and Derek McInnes, believed would be impossible for us to negotiate.
It was a bridge too far.
Surely even that was beyond us?
One hand on the trophy.
McInnes and Hearts really believed they had one hand on the Scottish Premiership trophy.
Until Kelechi Iheanacho stepped up in the 98th minute, and literally and figuratively broke Hearts.
Heart broken Tom English described the penalty decision as “Profoundly Grim”.

As the dust settles this morning on last night’s events, more and more people are stepping forward and admitting the penalty decision was the correct decision.
People say it took a lot of bravery to award that spot kick.
It cannot be classed as bravery to apply the laws of the game.
The same as it cannot be classed as “Profoundly Grim”.
If the officials had a modicum of bravery contained within them last night, Celtic would have been awarded a penalty after Callum Ward had absolutely floored Daizen Maeda.
That was as clear and obvious a penalty as you’ll ever see.
You know what I thought was worse though?
I actually believed that if Arne Engels’ lob had gone under the cross bar and in, rather than hitting it, they’d have disallowed it on the basis Maeda had fouled Ward.
But people like English in the media, and that cretin Boyd, never look at things that way.

They just dismiss incidents like that out of hand.
But when a legitimate incident arises which affords Celtic the kind of opportunity it did last night?
All hell breaks loose.
It’s “Profoundly Grim”.
It’s “disgusting”.
The game is corrupt.
The Officials are corrupt.
John Beaton is a closet Celtic fan.
All rationality goes out the window, to the point where people even believe the fucking FBI should be called in to investigate it.
I shit you not.
You couldn’t make this insanity up if you tried:

You mark my words, if Celtic win this title on Saturday, it will be because Steven McLean failed to award Hearts a penalty last Saturday night, and John Beaton awarded Celtic a “disgusting” penalty last night.
Nobody will see our achievement for what it actually is.
Only we, the Celtic fans, will see and appreciate the achievement.
It even killed Tom English to give Daizen Maeda any praise for his phenomenal overhead kick last Sunday.
It pains every one of them to see Celtic have pulled this out of the fire.
Against all odds.
And deep down, in their heart of hearts, they know that the inevitable is probably going to happen at Celtic Park on Saturday.
They know that Hearts might just be bystanders as they watch their Premiership dream fade away at the last hurdle.
And yes, it’s cruel, and it’s unfair.
But the reality is that this Celtic team just will not die.
We have been down and out, but never dead.
Never killed off just when everyone expects we will be.
We have defied the odds in so many games this season, I’ve lost count.
Now it all boils down to one winner takes all game at Celtic Park on Saturday.
And if people thought the atmosphere on Sunday last was off the scale, I would say we ain’t seen nothing yet.
I really do believe that Hearts will wilt under the wall of noise from the stands.
You saw last night at Fir Park how much this meant to the fans and the players.
The photo of Auston Trusty in the middle of the fans at the end said it all.
This has been a huge emotional roller coaster for them, and us.
They’ve given themselves the biggest fighting chance they could have.
I can’t see them letting that go on Saturday.
Hearts need to pick themselves up for this now.
You cannot underestimate the psychological blow Kelechi Iheanacho delivered to their title hopes with that penalty.
Nobody wants us to win this but us.

And perhaps the Hibs fans, who will never hear the end of it if their arch rivals win it.
The mood in the media will be sombre come Sunday if we do.
Tom English will begrudgingly write an article giving us praise through gritted teeth.
It will all just be too “Profoundly Grim” for him.
Hugh Keevins will shower praise on plucky Hearts and predict the Ibrox side will win the League next season.
Will I give a toss?
Not a chance.
if we do this, we will have earned it through blood, sweat, grit, determination, and tears.
Very real tears because even Daizen Maeda cried last night.
And nobody, I mean nobody, will be able to take that away from us.
Saturday cannot come quick enough.

Did anyone know Sevco 5088 plc have lost 4 games inaRow COYBIG 🍀.This will be a sweet title
Love every minute of their disgust. And I also love the Hibs fans reaction when they heard the news at Ipox. 1 to go. HH
Even Mikey Stewart’s mask slipped last night . The guy sets out his stall as being an Uber neutral commentator in all circumstances , yet last night on Sportscene highlights he became the ex Hearts captain once more with his anti Celtic rhetoric when showing his shock at Celtic’s legitimate last seconds penalty . On Saturday the entire SMSM will adopt an attitude of ‘ we are all Hearts supporters for the day ! ‘ And when it all goes nipples up their grief will be palpably obvious and more enjoyable and gratifying to witness . To quote one of my all time hero’s catchphrase …’ how sweet it is ! ‘
At first I thought the penalty was for Trusty getting smashed in the back of the head. Dazen getting smashed by their keeper was as obvious a penalty as they come. Sevco fans saying the world is on Hearts side on Saturday know little of our standing around the world.
3-0 prediction and the title stays at it’s home.
Cmon the bhoys in green.
