Claudio Braga, is he really worth £8 to £10 million?
Jamestown analytics seems to think so, and according to the Record late yesterday evening, Hearts won’t budge for anything less than that asking price.
I’m not going to deny the fact I was impressed by Claudio Braga last season.
I won’t deny that I had visions of Jota and Braga on our wings next season terrorising defences.
I can dream on.
With the way things are going, we won’t be seeing Jota until late September or early October at the least.
With a price tag of £8 million at low water, we sure as hell won’t see Claudio Braga at Celtic.

When I saw it, I had a funny thought.
I thought to myself that Silent Mike and Co. couldn’t even come in with a lowball offer on this one.
Because lowballing Hearts would mean offering £6 million at least, and a figure like that generally causes the board to go into convulsions.
And Desmond to almost have a coronary.
The old £3.5 million lowball just wouldn’t cut it with this one.
Do I think Braga is worth his asking price?
Hell, no.
But considering Jamestown Analytics came up with such an exorbitant asking price for him, I’m surprised Desmond wouldn’t look at getting a Poundland version of Hearts’ analytics system for Celtic.
You know?
One that can think further than the figures of £3 million or £25 million written on the back of a beermat in Barbados?
It would appear that Braga already has suitors, and that Lyon are interested in taking him to Ligue 1 for next season.
‘Big clubs’ like Lyon don’t baulk at price tags in the £8 to £10 million bracket.
Then again, clubs like Lyon live in the 21st century, unlike Celtic, which seems stuck in a Dermot Desmond time warp / deja vu / Groundhog day, and so on, and so on.

Even Silent Mike’s fax machine is more ehhhh….silent than usual this summer.
But not to worry, he used the petty cash to purchase himself a summer’s worth of coffee pods for his World Class coffee machine.
He’ll need them because that machine is going to be doing the hard yards for Silent Mike.
While he sits in his office waiting for that Fax machine to stir into life.
Indeed.
World Class in everything he does is our Silent Mike.
Especially silence.
Aren’t we just blessed?
I digress.
And before you say you’re ranting into the void again, Eric – I probably am.
Because is it just me, or is that void getting void-ier, if there’s such a thing as void-ier?
There I am, ranting again.
That’s what this club does to you, I’m afraid.
The old tune, The Sound of Silence comes to mind.
Hello Desmond my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again.
Because a vision softly creeping, left it’s seeds while I was sleeping….
Yeah.
The vision of a well run Celtic football club.
A man can dream, I suppose?
This is what I’m reduced to.
Filling the void with inane ramblings because there is literally nothing to talk about when it comes to Celtic.
Other than the fact an £8 million price tag for Claudio Braga would send the board into convulsions, and probably cause Desmond to treble bogie on an easy par 3 in Barbados.
That’s the sad reality.
The Sound of Silence.
Get used to it until about midday on September 3rd, when chaos will reign supreme at Celtic Park for a few hours.
The panic buys and loans will start flooding in.
Probably off the back of yet another Champions League failure and £40 million pissed down the drain.
So much to look forward to.
Such is a Celtic fan’s lot.
But hey.
We’ve got Silent Mike, The absent meddling golfer, and Penfold looking after us.
Nothing at all to worry about.
Said nobody in the whole wide world of World Classiness, ever.
There I go again…
