The Ibrox side never fails to disappoint on the opening day, last night was no different!

New season, new manager, new players, same old story.
The Ibrox side dropped 2 precious points at Tannadice as Dundee United took a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Friday night’s Scottish Premiership opener.
The first goal of the season was scored by Dundee United’s new summer acquisition from A-League side Newcastle Jets, Lachlan Rose.
Optimistic bears started the day out with high hopes that the Staunch Del revolution would get off to a flyer.
Alas, Del’s angry heid, in conjunction with his platform brogues wasn’t enough to deliver an opening win.
The Ibrox side huffed and puffed against a well organised United side, but it was all to no avail.
2 points dropped on Game day one.
The bear pit on Follow Follow was alive with excitement in anticipation of the game.
Right up until about the 38th minute at Tannadice, the optimism was sky high.
Then that same old sinking feeling struck when Rose’s opening goal put the Tangerines ahead.
In the second half, Del’s Ibrox boys came out with renewed vigour and all guns blazing.
It seemed that Del stood tall on his platform brogues and delivered a staunchly inspiring half-time talk.
Which fell just short.
Thelo Aaasgaard got the much sought after equaliser, but the Ibrox side were incapable of pushing on to victory.
In fact, it was Jim Goodwin’s side who really should have wrapped up the win late on in the 84th minute.
With a beautiful ball played to his feet, another new siging – Jesse Randall – was one on one with Ivor Pandur.
All he had to do was slot the ball home.
Instead he just dinked the ball directly to Pandur, much to the dismay of the home crowd.
It looked as if he was trying to lob the Croatian keeper, but his attempt at the audacious fell flat on it’s face.
That was the last clear cut chance of the contest.
A collective moan emanated from the Ibrox fans in attendance when Nick Walsh blew the final whistle in the 93rd minute.
Del then marched onto the park with a big angry bear heid on him, and went straight to Nick Walsh to give him a piece of his mind.
McInnes was left furious at full-time after his side were not awarded a penalty kick for a tackle on Mo Diomande in the closing stages.
The midfielder had gone down in the box after a tackle from Emmanuel Agyei, with a goal kick awarded by Walsh.
Sky Sports cameras then showed McInnes’ stunned reaction at the sidelines as he thought his side should have had a penalty.
In reality, had the penalty been awarded, it would have been a very soft decision.
One major plus from a Celtic perspective was the performance of rumoured target Will Ferry.
The Irish full back had a very solid performance throughout, and his long throw skills caused the Ibrox side a few headaches.
If we can pick this guy up for around £2 million, then it’s a no brainer really.
All in all though, it was a typical underwhelming opening day performance from the Ibrox side.
That’s now 4 opening days in a row where they’ve failed to win.
Even staunch Del couldn’t break that duck.
On Thursday, I wrote an article predicting the Ibrox side would drop points in their opening fixture.
I also said the fall out on Follow Follow would be a sight to behold.

People might say my celebrations are a bit premature, as we still have to play on Monday evening.
Well, I’m pretty confident we should have the ability to do the business against Dundee.
My predictions about this game were bang on the money.
So I’m going with a 3-0 win on Monday evening, and Celtic top of the table, 2 points ahead of the Ibrox side already.
They really are the gift that keeps on giving!

They are all shell shocked at last night’s opening game score in Dundee ..and that’s just the SMSM scoops ! At half time as Dundee Utd led 1-0 the narrative was all about how theRangers were behind incredibly and what they had to do to turn the game around ? The old BBC Scottish version on the radio had Thompson Halliday and MacLeod on commentary all with veins popping from their necks in disbelief and anger at their pet project’s performance that you could have towed trucks from ! Not about how Dundee Utd were winning …but why theRangers were losing ! That was the talk and debate at half time . Just like in previous seasons . So it’s the man with a tan has no plan ! But it will all be fine when the other guys are in the door to bolster the squad …nothing to worry about in scoop land . Del’s got the Factor 50 on to keep cool and safe in hot situations !
