Free agent Carlton Cole has put his move to Celtic in doubt after training yesterday at Lennoxtown.
After showing promise in training for the Hoops, the striker was helped off the field with a calf injury but the extent of the injury is currently unclear.
The 31-year-old left the training centre after picking up an injury in training according to the Daily Express.
The former West Ham striker is currently weighing up his options with rumours of a lucrative move to Qatar on the cards for the Englishman.
Although he would be unavailable for Celtic’s Europa League group stage games, Cole would be invaluable for them should Griffiths or Ciftci suffer any injuries or get suspended.
Debate behind the scenes between his representatives and Peter Lawwell will most certainly be about his wages.
Cole would have to take a pay cut from his days at West Ham to fit the bill at Celtic, given their stringent policy over their finances.
