Craig Gordon has given his view on a horror defensive mix-up that could have cost Celtic their place in the Champions League.
The Celtic number one started the game well saving his first ever penalty from open play in his career and made several saves in the opening 20 minutes.
Just three minutes into the second half, he failed to secure the ball in his hands and collided with Saidy Janko, leaving Ovidiu Hoban with the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.
Speaking about the incident to the Daily Record, the 33-year-old said:
I didn’t even see Saidy coming. I shouted to Kolo (Toure) to let it run and Saidy has come in on my blind side and crashed into me. These things happen but we managed to see the game out.
I think I did all right, I don’t think there was a lot I could do about the second goal to be honest with you. I thought I handled everything the came in the box and that’s all I can do.

Despite Gordon’s view on the incident and the game, many fans were angered by the ‘keeper for not commanding his area and doing whatever was necessary to secure possession of the ball.
Brendan Rodgers has brought in a new signing in Dorus de Vries, who not only suits the sweeper keeper role the Irishman likes to play, but he also has the trust of the manager.
After last night’s performance, Gordon’s place in the side will be questioned further after numerous errors in games already this season.
Celtic fans were relieved in the end to progress to Thursday evening’s draw for the Champions League group stages, where they could face the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
