Well, the feel good stories out of Ibrox are flowing like liquor from the loving cup.
Today, Sheffield United were holed below the water line, according to Gavin Berry and the Record, in a straight shoot out with the HMS Ibrox for the services of Welsh international Tom Lawrence.
This, of course, was according to a “report”.
The feel good story goes on to report that the reason Sheffield United were shot to smithereens and blown out of the water was because, basically, the Ibrox side are loaded and their “lucrative offer” was better than United’s.

Berry was at pains to point this out in his puff piece:
“United were confident they were leading the race and that Lawrence was keen to join. Yet, Rangers’ lucrative offer and the chance to play European football saw Lawrence opt for the switch north of the border. There were several Championship clubs in for the 28-year-old, including Watford, but Lawrence had chosen United over those.
Lawrence, of course, very much fits the ex-con list of players who have played for the Ibrox club, after his drunk driving charges in September 2019.
He joins illustrious names like Joey Barton and Jon Flanagan, as Joe McHugh over on Videocelts pointed out yesterday.

The 28 year old journeyman has played for nine clubs so far in his amazing career, where so far he has won nothing other than the Ipswich Town player of the year award and goal of the season for the Tractor boys in the same season.
Celtic should be very worried.
In other news, another 28 year old journeyman, Antonio Čolak, who has had no less than eleven clubs in his career to date, told the Record today that, ‘watching the likes of Dado Prso, Nikica jelavic and Nacho Novo score goals for the club gave him ‘goosebumps’.

Ross Pilcher reported gleefully that:
The Croatian follows in the footsteps of countrymen Prso and Jelavic after completing his £1.8million switch from PAOK. The striker penned a three-year deal with the Ibrox club and has joined up with his new teammates in their pre-season training camp in Portugal. Giovanni van Bronckhorst finally got his man after protracted negotiations with the Greek outfit, and he’s set to be joined by fellow frontman Tom Lawrence soon. The Gers are expected to announce the former Derby County man in the coming days.
Yes indeed, “protracted negotiations” loosely translates into, ” we had to wait for the Aribo money before we could pay for him.”
Funny that the reported £2.5 million asking price was the stumbling block all along and that PAOK were playing hardball.
In reality, they were just waiting to be paid and they were delighted with £1.8 million for a player who only managed to score 3 goals in 29 appearances.
But hey, the press are falling over themselves to paint these signings as fantastic additions for the Ibrox first team.
Two 28 year old journeymen.
You know the next signing will signal that the title is heading back to Ibrox.
Celtic should be afraid, very afraid.
You manky mob certainly cover RANGERS more than you do your own lot, waiting for aribo money aribo ain’t left yet think about Nathan Patterson money £4 million Gerrard money European money for reaching the final do some homework you clowns and plz try not to embarrassed scotland in Europe and watch out for financial fair play, you lot have signed a goalie from Dundee utd a argentine defender that wants to be the next Maradona and paid for 2 players that been there since last year
