Oooh, its all heating up now, a lot of huns are foaming at the mouth at the fact Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daizen Maeda weren’t sent off for Celtic during yesterday’s tie with Motherwell at Celtic Park.
The conspiracy theories are growing by the day.
John Beaton has now been reduced to tears in the space of two weeks.
He has been forced, by his VAR, to award penalties to Celtic in the last two games he has refereed involving us.
Its clear he’s no longer welcome at the Louden Tavern, even if Andrew and Father Clancy “telt him to dae it”.
There is a new conspiracy theory in town now.
All of the referees are starting to favour Celtic, and they desperately want us to win the League.
Even Beaton has been converted to the dark side.

Okay, let’s get serious here.
Celtic had two stonewall penalty incidents yesterday.
The incident with Maeda was initially waved away for a goal kick by Beaton.
Most of the players knew he had been manhandled to the ground, and their reaction said it all.
Kevin Clancy clearly saw it as well, and called Beaton to the monitor as a result.
Watching the replays, I don’t think Beaton had any other option but to award a penalty.
Being the last man back, Emmanuel Longelo then had to be dismissed.
There can be no complaints about it being a penalty.
However, the decision not to award anything for the challenge on Tomáš Čvančara on the edge of the box was baffling.
If anything, this one looked worse than the challenge on Maeda.
This seems to be Beaton’s default position with anything that happens around the penalty box when it doesn’t involve his favourite side.
Čvančara is clearly blatantly clipped on the edge of the box, whether its inside or outside is open to debate.
Worst conspiracy theory ever btw… pic.twitter.com/62OIZQturU

You see, this is the problem, Ibrox fans who are examining yesterday’s game are examining it to the nth degree.
Looking for everything they can possibly find to state that we got away with one.
All while conveniently ignoring the blatant fouls on the Celtic players, in conjunction with claiming the Maeda penalty was not a penalty.
So, let’s examine what exactly it is that has them foaming at the mouth.
The first one is a foul by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Both players should be sent off for these

Maeda attacks the Motherwell players 😂😂 he blocked his run then stamps on him and finally pushes his face down. That’s a red card
And Oxlede-Chamberlain should be sent off for that too. That’s an ankle breaker 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/VsUlEUHVM1
Ibrox fans believe it was a second yellow card offence for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but when you watch the footage of it, you can see he clearly won the ball from Ibrahim Said.
In fact, he was so adamant he did, he is seen clearly remonstrating with Beaton afterwards about it.
Said’s momentum, despite losing the ball, cause him to hit the deck.
There is no way this is a yellow card offence.
Even conceding a freekick for it was harsh.
Following this one, Ibrox supporters believe that Maeda should have been sent off for his tussle with Said in the 60th minute.
Notice how Said is the central figure in these claims.
Seems as if he likes to put himself about, and also has a penchant for the dramatic, which even Beaton didn’t seem to buy.
Strangely enough, for a game that was almost evenly balanced in possession, it was also evenly balanced in fouls, with 10 apiece for each side.
But back to the Maeda foul.
I’ve watched this one a few times.
Maeda is initially checked by Tom Sparrow, but doesn’t go to ground and retains ball possession, Said then comes charging in from behind.
From the footage, you can clearly see that Maeda has no idea that he’s coming from behind.
Must be one of the dirtiest players in the league. Always leaving a boot in, sly kicks & yet gets away with it continually https://t.co/nWyqQpWQDm

He ploughs into Maeda, and you can see Maeda’s head recoil from the force of the impact, but he stands his ground.
Said, though, hits the deck like a sack of spuds.
This, apparently, was the offence which Ibrox fans maintain warranted a red card.
And a retrospective 5 match ban.
Said then wraps his leg around Maeda in attempt to take him to the ground too.
Maeda reacts and pushes him on the shoulder, as if to say, “enough, quit it!”
Said clutches his face as if he’s been violently assaulted.
Beaton doesn’t fall for it, nor should he, but the Ibrox fans do.
This is the best they can come up with.

This is what they’re moon-howling about today on social media.
As is the case in every game, we did seem to get away with one involving Benjamin Arthur, and you guessed it?
None other than Ibrahim Said.
There has been a lot said about the officiating this season but we got away with one here.

This could be a season defining decision. It’s no wonder Hearts/Rangers supporters are furious, I’d be the same 😳

The common denominator in all of these fouls.
He backs into Benjamin Arthur in the box, who does put both of his hands on his back, but his push was pretty neglible.
Said once again made the most of it, and hit the deck like he’d been shot.
I say we got away with this one because I’m shocked Beaton didn’t take advantage of it and point to the spot immediately.
Nor did Clancy in the VAR room.
I guess this is why Ibrox fans now think there’s a conspiracy against them?
Once their trusted servant, John Beaton now seems to be giving Celtic every bit of help he can.
The very idea of it is comical.
At the time of writing, the Ibrox side have managed to scrape a win in Paisley, so they’re still in this race too.
If only Brother Beaton had stuck to the script yesterday?
Then they could be above us in the table.
Ah well, you know how it works.
Its all Beaton’s fault.
Same as its the Celtic board’s fault for bringing Martin O’Neill in and destroying their season.
Another conspiracy amongst many.
With many more to come before this season is out.
You can bet your bottom dollar on that.
Honest John Beaton has pointed to the spot to give Celtic a penalty twice in 14 years.
Before VAR came in he gave Celtic one penalty.
Since VAR came in he has given Celtic 7 penalties, 6 of which have been recommended by VAR.
Home to st Mirren VAR 2023
Home to Hibs VAR 2024
Ibrox VAR 2024
Rugby Park VAR 2025
Ibrox VAR 2026
Home to Motherwell VAR 2026
Since VAR came in the only game in which he has voluntarily given us a penalty was against Livvy and he later sent off Joe Hart
Consistent poor performance from Beaton 2 weeks in a row during celtic league matches had to be forced to give 2 blatant penalties that “he missed, or decided not to give”.
Surely that deserves benching from the rota for incapability, or “something else “.the board should call out these clear and obvious errors and ask for his exclusion from our matches
