In the last few days, the SMSM has been going into overdrive with stories of how the Ibrox side are going to win the title.
Looking at the newspapers these past few days, you’d be led to believe this was entirely a one horse race.
Celtic and Hearts are an after thought.
A kind of annoying irrelevance that is there in the background, but to all intents and purposes, this is the Ibrox side’s title to lose.
They are just too good for everyone else.
Ryan Jack says they’ve been relentless since December, with 14 goals scored in their last four victories.
He’s starting to get 55 vibes.
You know the writing is on the wall when the 55 vibes start coming around again.
Jack reckons there’s a fire burning inside Nico Raskin too, and that he can lead them to the title.
Its wall to wall coverage of the Ibrox side in the last few days, and you know what?
Its brilliant when the the media does this because higher they elevate the Ibrox side, the harder they will fall if they don’t pull off a title win.
The climb down from the media will be one of epic proportions.
Of course, if they have Hearts to turn to, then it will be the season of the miracle.
For everybody in the SMSM right now, the nightmare scenario is a Celtic win.

A title win for Celtic would mean the kind of coverage they dread.
Because in their view, Celtic winning this League title would represent a disaster.
Why is this?
Well because this is the worst Celtic side in living memory.
In reality, we should not be in contention at all.
Yet , here we are, heading into the split only 3 points off the top of the table.
By 17.00 on Sunday, we could be in the Scottish Cup final.
By 17.00 on Saturday the 25th of April, we could be joint top with Hearts, despite the efforts of John McGlynn’s squad of Ibrox fans.
Hard to believe, but there’s a very real possibility all of these things could have happened for Celtic before Hearts head to Easter Road, and the Ibrox side play Motherwell at Ibrox.

Look, I know that watching Celtic of late is hard going.
The way we play is excruciating viewing at times, but we continue to grind out the results.
If we win this title, we’re not going to win it playing sexy football.
More like in a brace yourself Maggie, lights out, and duvet over the head style.
This is why the SMSM is so desperate for the Ibrox side to win it, and if they don’t, Hearts are the next in line to answer their prayers.
Celtic winning this title – playing the style of football we are right now – is the stuff of nightmares for them.
But what they’re doing at the moment, building up the Ibrox side the way they are?
The climbdown will be epic if we win it, and they don’t.
If Celtic manage to pull off the double, the SMSM will be in a state of mourning.
If that comes to pass, I can’t wait to pore over the obituaries in the media.
I can see the headlines now:
The death of Scottish football as the worst Celtic side in living memory clinch the double
Bring it on.
We might be an afterthought now, but just imagine how much we’ll torment them if we do win.
It will be hilarious!

The main stream media have always been the anti celtic, but everybody can see that we don’t have a striker at all and even with Martin O’Neil trying his damdedest this is almost mission impossible and we have Desmond and his cabal to thank for this car crash , whatever happens we must have a total season ticket boycott and stop giving them your money, if you don’t then you are as complicit as Desmond and his son and the celtic cabal , it’s up to you , this may be our last chance to save celtic from the vultures now and in the future

Brilliant!
That gave me a good wee chuckle on lovely but dreich Glesga morning so chapeau to you Sir !
Eric, I fear the media may be right in what they’re saying as I see us winning nothing this season, I hope I’m wrong but I highly doubt it, this team aren’t good enough to do a double. Even if we beat St Mirren on Sunday I’d still fancy Falkirk or Dunfermline to beat us in the final, I’ve got a feeling that it’ll be Dunfermline and Lenny we face if we get through and that he’d put the final nail in our coffin this season. It’s remarkable that Martin has us still in with a chance of winning the title, if we were to win this it would be the greatest comeback since Lazarus rose from his grave. I’m disillusioned with Celtic at the moment it used to be a highlight going to the game but this board have sucked all the joy out of watching football and I’m not renewing my season ticket as I want to enjoy my retirement without the dramas involved at the club just now. The sad thing is that I think we’ve got further down to go before this gets better we’ve not reached our nadir yet and I think the outlook isn’t healthy as the club’s in free fall and if we did do the double or maybe just the title this board would see it like their austerity measures still managed to reap success on the pitch which is utter bullshit but that’s how they’d see it through their eyes. It could be a good thing if we lost this league title as this board would have to invest in the product on the pitch and this is a big fix, it’s a full rebuild and there’s no way it’s happening in one transfer window if Nicholson and McKay are in situ. I believe if that if you look up incompetent and neglect in the dictionary there would be a picture of the full Celtic board next to each word, the futures bleak unless there’s a radical change at boardroom level. The real hope I’ve got is that Desmond sell his shares to someone who’s got the ambition to make Celtic world class in everything we do but I’m not holding my breath as he’s said he’s no interest in selling up.
Hear hear !
