If the current Celtic board are in place this summer, expect chaos to reign at the club

I read an article by James over on the Celtic blog, in it, he asks if Celtic are about to make the same mistakes in the upcoming summer window all over again?

I can answer that question very easily for him.

Yes, they will.

In fact, if you thought last summer was bad – if this current board is place – you can expect chaos to reign.

Think about this logically.

We are in the utter mess we are in because of the very people in the Celtic board room.

To expect us to trust these people to fix the monumental mess they created, is like expecting Donald Trump to suddenly stop suffering from verbal diarrhea, it ain’t gonna happen.

They are incapable of it.

This regime has overseen a rate of decline at this club that cannot be halted by them now.

The only way things change at Celtic is if these people do the decent thing and step down.

There is a rumour doing the rounds at the moment that the fact that Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay will be stepping down at the end of this season is a poorly kept secret.

If this is true, I certainly don’t see any signs of it.

If we win nothing this season, I think its fair to say that their positions are untenable.

But lets be frank here, their positions were untenable in the aftermath of the Wilfried Nancy debacle.

My guess is that Dermot Desmond has told them the gig is up if we win nothing at the end of this campaign.

As things stand, they’re hanging in there thanks to Martin O’Neill’s ability to keep us alive in this title race.

But as we know, our lack of a prolific striker, and our inability to kill teams off is ensuring that this title run in is on a knife edge.

If we finish the season trophyless, to expect these people to oversee a rebuild at Celtic is total insanity.

And if you thought this season was bad, then you’ll need to brace yourself for mediocrity – on a level never witnessed before – in the next campaign.

Look, there’s no doubt we’ll make money through player sales in the summer window.

We have a few decent assets which I’m sure the board has already earmarked for sale.

But to think they will invest the entirety of the funds we make on these players sales in the squad rebuild?

Think again, I’d say.

This board is notorious for hoarding money.

To expect them to do any different this summer would be totally naive.

The fact that they haven’t even started the interview process for management candidates, is in itself, no surprise.

These guys have two gears, neutral and reverese.

Unless, of course, they have their man already?

For them to put all of their eggs in one basket wouldn’t come as a surprise, would it?

Each and every one of us knows that this club will not take one step forward under the current regime.

No matter how badly or successfully this season finishes.

If Jens Berthel Askou is the manager they’ve pinned their hopes on, the sharp decline in his Motherwell side’s form of late should be of major concern to all of us.

Although I’m sure if he does us a favour at Ibrox next weekend, in the board’s view, it won’t do his prospects any harm.

But based on their form of late, and the way the Ibrox side has been playing, I don’t see that happening.

Either way, if the current board remains in place at Celtic, we are going no where fast.

Pinning our hopes on these people doing the decent thing and stepping down is pointless.

Its clear from the way this season has gone that they don’t do the decent thing.

We have to hope that Dermot Desmond finally wakes from his golfing slumber, and realises that his plaything is floundering badly.

I’m sure the sight of the Ibrox side celebrating a title win might stir him into action?

He has previous for that.

Lets hope he has a bit Ibrox animosity still coursing through his veins.

I wouldn’t hold my breath.
