In my early article from yesterday, I discussed how the countdown toward Danny Röhl’s Ibrox ending had begun.
It seems that the SMSM are booking his flight ticket out of Ibrox already today.
They’re telling us he has an exit route.
Apparently he’s under “increased Ibrox scrutiny”.
When is any Ibrox manager not under scrutiny at that club?
When the media openly writes that he has “blown their title chances”, we all know what the outcome is going to be.
Mark Walker and Ross Pilcher of the Record were quick out of the blocks to tell us that Bundesliga strugglers Wolfsburg may be interested in Röhl.
The same club, strangely enough, that showed interest in Daizen Maeda before this season started.
Realistically, when this sort of chatter begins in the media about an Ibrox manager, the writing is on the wall.
When they’re stating Wolfsburg could offer him a “way out” of Ibrox, you have to wonder what that means?

Does it mean that the media feels he needs a way out?
Because he blew their title chances?
Just as every manager has done before him.
Steven Gerrard was the only exception to the rule, in that he was permitted to blow it twice before he won it.
And we all know the circumstances he won it under, don’t we?
You see, the funny thing about it is that I can guarantee if Röhl goes in the near future, I’ll be back talking about this merry-go-round this time next year.
What’s even funnier, is that when the media writes stories like this, they seem blissfully ignorant of the fact they have this conversation around this time every year.
It’s just that time of year again.
Another Ibrox manager has blown it, time to move him on.
Here is some of what Walker and Pilcher had to say on the subject:
Questions are now being asked about whether he (Röhl) is the right man to lead thew Ibrox club into next season although is likely to remain at the helm for the start of the 2026/27 campaign.
However, Wolfsburg could make a move to take him back to his homeland.
The Volkswagen-backed club are in a battle to avoid relegation from the top flight and veteran boss Dieter Hecking is reportedly set to move upstairs to a football director role at the end of the season, regardless of whether they stay up.
Questions are being asked?
Aren’t they always at this time of year?
It seems to me that the media would be quite content for Röhl to pack his backs and head for Wolfsburg.
Just to pave the way for next poor hapless victim to try and win the title, fail miserably, and then be moved on this time next year.
Later today, Mark Pirie also did a piece on Röhl moving to Wolfsburg.
However, Pirie went one further and suggested his replacement.
To the absolute shock of nobody in the whole wide world ever, its none other than Steven Gerrard.
Jesus wept.
Do any of these guys have an original thought between them?
Is this seriously the best they can come up with?
Move Danny Röhl on, bring in Stevie G.
Seriously, this one really is getting boring.
Stevie G is never going to return to that club, not in a million years, and you know why?
Because he knows he isn’t good enough to deliver a title in a normal season there.

He couldn’t even cut it in Saudi Arabia.
He’s smart enough to know his limitations, but the fuckin’ SMSM?
Nah, they’ll cling to this one forever more.
Gerrard will be in his 60’s, and they’ll still be touting him for the job.
Röhl hasn’t even brought his team to Celtic Park, and they’ve started to pull the curtain down on his Ibrox career.
If, and this is a big if, he managed to win on Sunday – after the game – he’d be at Ibrox for life in next week’s stories according to these intrepid stenographers.
The ultimate hero, and he’d have bagged bragging rights for the summer to boot.
Not only that, the headlines would scream:
Ibrox hero Röhl halts Celtic’s title bid
You know they would.
Because these guys don’t have an ounce of self awareness.
They are truly the worst sports media on the planet.
Röhl is finished, let’s get on the Stevie G bandwagon.
Again.
I mean seriously?

Won what 1 game out of 6 in Europe ?
Never made it past a domestic cup semi
But clubs in Germany are chasing him just because he’s a German
Aye right
Apologies but I must take issue with your point, you honestly could not be more wrong and with the utmost respect and friendship could I please ask you to remove the line –
“ He’s smart enough to know his limitations“
You couldn’t be more wrong. He’s not. He’s absolutely not! 🙂 He’s as thick as a whale omelette. And he has no clue about his limitations! He needed a tutor for his coaching badges ffs. In addition he’s a total Narcissist who genuinely believes he’s a great football coach. He’s still eyeing the Liverpool job if they can Slot. He’s a complete and utter Bell End
The Smsm supports Sevco and they are sending a clear message to Rohl that he is finished if he doesn’t win on Sunday.
It’s as simple as that, this is his last chance as you pointed out, win or draw and he has a chance of staying but lose and he’s out.
