It’s that time of the year again, when the season finishes, and all of the speculation about players departing Celtic begins.
It’s always about departing players.
So, let me ask you a question.
Are you content to watch all of our top talent walk out the door for serious money, and then trust that the current board will adequately replace them?
We face into a summer World Cup, not knowing who our next manager is going to be, and not having a clue what our starting squad next August will look like.
In addition to this, Martin O’Neill has confirmed that Felipe Jota will be out until next October, at least.
Progress in the winger department is a new contract for Hyun-Jun Yang until 2030, and a year’s extension for an almost 35 year old James Forrest.
Now, I know he’s evergreen, but even evergreen has its limits.
That’s just one area of the pitch for Celtic that needs serious attention.

Just one.
It is likely that Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, and Arne Engels may be headed for the exit door.
Arne Engels will probably break the Scottish transfer record.
Just as we all said he would a year and a half ago on the Trinity Tims podcast.
Much to the disbelief of a lot of our viewers.
But here’s the thing, taking into consideration we could be losing two important midfielders, do you once again trust this board to adequately replace them?
Celtic could generate £50 million, at low water, on the sale of these three players.
If Daizen Maeda has a really good World Cup, the sky is the limit on the kind of money Celtic could demand for him.
After his dynamite finish to the season, Maeda certainly put himself back in the shop window.
He will only further enhance his profile if he has a successful World Cup campaign.
Silent Mike must be rubbing his hands with glee at that very prospect and what it could potentially make for Celtic.
Engels, on the other hand, has missed out on this summer’s World Cup.
But that doesn’t mean his value isn’t sky high, especially after the part he played in securing the double for us.
The question is, why would we be in such a rush to sell him?
He’s only 22, and if we managed to qualify for the Champions League, another European campaign at the top level would do him no harm at all.
That would only serve to further increase his value.
The problem here is that if an EPL club comes with a big offer this summer, just as Nottingham Forest did in the last transfer window, Silent Mike would probably jizz in his pants and jump at it.
We know the board cannot resist big money offers.
You also know they are incapable of replacing a player like Engels in the event that he departed this summer.
The fear for all of us here is that they further decimate the squad and fail to replace the players sold with adequate quality.
Reo Hatate won’t fetch much, and right now, as much as it pains me to say it, I won’t miss him if he goes.
It’s looking inevitable that he will.
To me, it seems that he downed tools quite some time ago.
It’s just a pity he didn’t have the same mentality as his compatriot Maeda.
If he did, then Celtic would probably have another incoming windfall on their hands.
Either way, these three players will land the club north of £50 million.
That much I can guarantee.
Will we see all of that that re-invested in the squad?
I can tell you that as long as these cretins are in the Celtic boardroom, we will not.

They have never closed out a transfer window in a deficit.
So, let me ask you again Celtic supporters, are you resigned to the fact that Silent Mike and Co. will sell off all of our top talent without adequately replacing it?
And if so, are you willing to accept another summer of utter mediocrity in the transfer window?
These charlatans will tell you’ve they’ve learned lessons, learned from their mistakes.
If learning from your mistakes equates to just saying you’ve learned from them, and doing nothing different, then look no further than this board.
Bullshit is their speciality.
They don’t even have a manager lined up.
At this moment in time, they should have a lengthy shortlist of players lined up, as well as a lengthy shortlist of managerial candidates.
I’ll bet my house on the fact they have one manager on their shortlist, and they can’t even envisage thinking beyond that.
As for a shortlist of players?
They’re hoping that their one managerial candidate will do the heavy lifting there for them.
Just like he did when it came to cleaning up their mess, not once, but twice.
Celtic supporters, this is Short Term FC, where nobody thinks beyond today,or 20+ years ago for that matter.
It will remain as Short Term FC until fresh new blood enters the Celtic boardroom.
One wonders what they’ll do if their one and only candidate decides that retirement and an iconic stature is more than enough for him.
I dread to think.
In fact, I shouldn’t even have to think about it.
But I do.
Such is a Celtic supporters lot.
And always will be as long as a bunch of amateurs occupy the boardroom.
World class in everything they do.
If being world class in being shite was a thing, they wouldn’t even manage that.
Do us all a favour and let some professionals run our club.
Just imagine what it would be like if that happened?
Oh wait a minute, they tried that, and then ran him out the door.
I’ll leave it there…
Eric you can’t be saying that giving Yang a new contract is progress. He is worse than useless.
This boards DNA is corporate greed, they will sell Maeda Engels and nygren, and anybody else they can , the fans have to exert pressure stop giving them your money
Eric what is happening with The Trinity Tims pod not live in YouTube anymore sort it out mate
FFS Here we go fkin negative again. ENJOY OUR DOUBLE TRIUMPH MAN.
We do not know what will happen, who will move on or who will stay. Will there be changes in the Board make up. We do not fekin know but you want us to detest the Board before we know anything. We have to wait and see what happens AND if nothing changes then the collective has to take much stronger action.
I am hopeful thatDD listens to M.ON. I also hope THAT ON gets o position in the football dept. but not as manager. For his legacy.
There is so much to enjoy right now. Our brilliant end to the season and the depression of the MSM. Never let them forget how much they openly showed their hate for us. Never let the forget.
It s all very well talking about holding on to players but the simple fact is that it is down to the players themselves
and if they want to go just sell them on. There will be conditions attached when they sign regarding being allowed to move on if they get a better offer. If you refuse to let them go they will down tools , so it is a no-win,
certain lose situation.
But, as Wee Barra says, cheer up, you`ve just seen your team win a double against all odds. What kind of outlook
do you have? Let what will be, be. The antics at Celtic will break the monotony during the close season if nothing else.
