Over the last two weekends, the Celtic players have engaged in the shithousery of the Ibrox side.
For a long time now, Celtic fans have adopted the Ibrox side’s anthem and weaponised it against them.
Any time it comes on a Ibrox in a game against us, it seems the Celtic fans sing it louder than their Ibrox counterparts.
If ever there was confirmation needed that Celtic IS Simply The Best, this season was it.
We were at our weakest and they still could not mount a serious title challenge against us.
Despite spending north of £40 million on player purchases.
We have broken them this season.
Driven them over the edge.
But what really got to them in the end, was the videos circulating of the Celtic players in the winning dressing room over the last two weekends singing Simply The Best.
That has been soul destroying for them.
So much so, that they’re demanding that Simply The Best is dropped as their anthem.
Celtic has even taken that from them.

But there’s a certain irony in that, isn’t there?
Simply The Best became the anthem of the club that died in 2012.
It was the hallmark of their faux supremacy.
First driven by Gavin Masterson’s limitless overdraft, and then by a decade of industrial cheating through the use of the EBT scheme.
Simply The Best effectively represents a lengthy era of cheating.
It wasn’t real dominance, but severe financial doping under various different guises.
What’s even more ironic is that in the midst of a season where they have accused us of corruption and cheating, they are broken by the fact Celtic has taken an anthem from them that represented exactly that.
Cheating and corruption.
It is the ultimate form of shithousery.
Yet there is something strangely karmic about it all.
30 years ago, in the midst of their “march” to 9 in a row, when Rangers 1872 fans belted out Simply The Best, I doubt they ever imagined it would be weaponised against them the way it has.
Of course, I doubt they imagined their club would die either, but it did.
Nor did they imagine that Celtic would dominate the entirety of the 21st century.
But that is what’s happened.
The adoption of Simply The Best by the Celtic fans, and now the Celtic players is the final nail in the coffin for them.
They want it gone.
When you look back at the Scottish Cup quarter-final game at Ibrox, and how they reacted at the end when Celtic fans celebrated the win, the singing of Simply The Best by our fans before the game kicked off was really what lit the fuse.

It was probably then that the players saw the irony in it too.
They understood completely that singing it drove them over the edge.
Effectively, it would be like them taking You’ll Never Walk Alone from us.
I think that’s probably the easiest way to put it into context.
But while their anthem was borne out of cheating, ours represented the struggle of a club in an environment where it was hated and marginalised.
What kills them is that deep down they know what Simply The Best represents.
The fact that we’ve taken it from them confirms as much.
So if they’re binning it, what have they got left?
The Billy Boys?
Well, to be fair, that represents their club a hell of a lot more accurately than Simply the Best ever did.
Personally, I hope they keep it.
Then we can continue to shithouse them with it every time we play them at Ibrox.
Karma’s a bitch, ain’t it?
