Celtic bounced back from Thursday night’s disappointment with a five-star performance against Dundee United.
The Hoops threatened from the first minute and took the lead through Leigh Griffiths after the striker rolled the ball into the net from Scott Brown’s through ball that the Tangerines failed to clear.
They doubled their lead shortly before half-time as Stuart Armstrong provided the assist for Dedryck Boyata from a free kick and Celtic went into cruise control after Kieran Tierney was brought down and won the Hoops a penalty. Kris Commons, who split fan opinion on Thursday night, rifled the ball into the net.
After 54 minutes, Celtic were 4-0 up and Commons again getting the goal this time after some slack defending as he fired the ball into the top corner. Captain Scott Brown got a goal of his own in the closing stages to round off a good performance.
