Amiens SC make a loan bid for Boli Bolingoli

French side Amiens SC have made a loan bid to Celtic for full-back Boli Bolingoli, according to a report from Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports.

Bolingoli has been the talk of Scottish football over the last week after he featured for the Hoops against Kilmarnock after his unsanctioned trip to Spain.

Government guidelines indicate that anyone returning from Spain should quarantine for 14 days but Bolingoli failed to do that and he didn’t even tell Celtic that he’d made the trip until he’d already played in the match against Killie.

As such, Celtic’s games against St Mirren and Aberdeen were postponed and that understandably left Neil Lennon furious at his defender.

If Celtic are ready to cut ties with the full-back, then they could send him to Amiens, who have made an offer to take him on loan and the French club would like to include an option of a £2.3m transfer next summer in the deal.

Bolingoli’s stupidity and selfishness not only damaged Celtic’s start to the season but much more importantly, he put the health of his teammates and the Kilmarnock players in jeopardy.

Celtic have rightly condemned his actions and if they did decide to cut ties, it would make perfect sense as it looks like the level of trust between club and player has now evaporated.

Celtic would need to bring in cover if the defender left but truthfully, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if Lennon simply decided that he couldn’t bring the full-back into his squad again.
