Ibrox fans are crawling out of the woodwork to attack Celtic from every angle. They think they’ve won this already…

Last night, during our episode “Michael Nicholson – GTF!” on the Trinity Tims podcast, we discussed every aspect of what’s wrong at Celtic at the moment.

Throughout the live show, we had constant snide comments from Ibrox supporters.

How sad do you have to be to come onto a Celtic podcast to gloat about a League title you aren’t even close to winning yet?

In all of my life, and all of my time following Celtic in cyberspace, I have never gone onto an Ibrox podcast to comment and gloat.

Even when we we’re totally in the ascendency.

These clowns come on to gloat when they haven’t actually won anything – and when I might add – we still haven’t actually lost anything.

Everybody from the media, to Ibrox supporters, to their cheerleaders on BBC Scotland, is gloating about how we struggled against Hearts last Sunday.

They all believe that Celtic is a spent force.

Yet not one of them is willing to acknowledge that we played that game coming off the back of an utterly energy sapping 2-2 draw with Bologna the previous Thursday evening.

Nobody wants to talk about the fact we were down to 10 men.

Nobody wants to talk about how we held a top Italian side to a draw on their own patch with our side riddled with injuries.

Because to acknowledge that?

Well, that would be to acknowledge that what we did at Tynecastle on Sunday – under the circumstances – was actually achieve a decent result.

While once again being reduced to 10 men.

Instead, everybody is now jumping on the bandwagon to write Celtic off with 15 games still to play.

The Ibrox fans are harping on about us being entitled.

And saying that we only start greeting when the shoe is on the other foot and we’re losing.

Don’t make me cry laughing.

These are the fans who continuously rattle on about the fact that it is their divine right to win things.

When St. Johnstone have won as much as they did since they called out of the grave of the old club in 2012.

As for only greeting when we’re losing?

I’d like to remind them that we haven’t lost anything yet.

We’re still in this title race.

And we’re still in it despite being pathetic Celtic “battered from pillar to post” by Hearts according to Ryan Stevenson of the Daily Record.

Correct me if I’m wrong here?

But the home side – the supposed Champions elect – could only manage to muster a 2-2 draw against a Celtic side jaded after their midweek European exploits, and with a brand new striker up front?

Battered from pillar to post?

I’m not sure what Stevenson’s defintion of battered from pillar to post is?

But mine would entail something like a 4 or 5 nil hiding.

Coming from behind against a team down to 10 men to draw 2-2 sure as hell does not fit Stevenson’s description.

It really is hilarious, though, the full frontal attack that is going on.

The Ibrox fans just can’t help themselves.

The media can’t help themselves.

Everybody thinks we’re done, and that we’ve conceded the title already.

You’d be forgiven for forgetting this bunch of down and outs is the only side in Scotland still fighting on three fronts.

The only side with a very strong chance of remaining in Europe beyond tomorrow night.

But this is the beauty of this behaviour.

Let them write us off.

Let them shout it from the rooftops that we’re a spent force.

Because as I said last night on the podcast, if Martin O’Neill and his beleaguered squad manage to win this title, it will be the sweetest title win of the 21st century.

The fact that we would have managed it with what is our weakest since around 2010, would make it all the sweeter.

So let them gloat.

Let them believe they are going to win this.

Every time they’ve done that, well, you know what the outcome is.

You write Celtic off at your peril.

This isn’t over, far from it.

Its only over when the fat hun-lady sings.
