Celtic winning the most unlikely of doubles is apparently not worth a mention in the bitter world of Hugh Keevins.
No, instead he’d rather attack the Celtic fanbase, and express his faux outrage at the pitch invasion that happened 9 days ago now.
Yes, 9 days ago.
And I’ll bet we’re still going to be reading about in the media in the week ahead.
Keevins really is a bitter old fart.
In his Sunday morning article, he can’t even bring himself to mention Celtic had just won the Scottish Cup.
Then again, we all know he writes his Sunday morning article on a Saturday.
But there is a thing called editing, and there is no reason that Keevins could not have altered his article to mention the Scottish Cup victory.
But that would not suit his agenda.
Instead, all he wants to talk about is the story the media flogged to death throughout all of last week.
The pitch invasion.
The alleged assaults.
And how Celtic fans have tarnished the club’s image.

Last week, his colleague the Record, Keith Jackson, alleged that Lawrence Shankland was assaulted on the Parkhead turf.
We still await evidence of that 9 days later.
Shankland, of course, has now secured a move to his boyhood heroes.
A place where he’ll fit in perfectly.
Because he “gets it”.
He certainly showed how much he disliked Celtic fans and players last weekend anyway, so no doubt he’ll be revered over Ibrox way.
It’s strange that he’d choose to move to a club where he has less chance of winning the title than at Hearts.
He had also decided to forego the chance of competing in the Champions League.
The lure of his favourite club must have been too much for him.
I digress.
Back to the SMSM’s bitter old hack and his latest attack on Celtic.
Or more to the point, the Celtic fanbase.
Last night, I mentioned the fact that 5 recent games were under investigation by the SFA.
Celtic at Motherwell on the 13th.
Celtic at home to Hearts on the 16th.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Hamilton Academical in League 1 on the 2nd of May.
Hamilton’s League 1 play-off second-leg against Clyde at Broadwood on the 15th.
Stenhousemuir’s Championship play-off second-leg against Alloa on the 16th.
Note how Keevins fails to mention any of those outside of the games Celtic were involved in?
Pitch invasions have happened up and down the country this season, but only Celtic’s gets examined to the nth degree.
It doesn’t suit Keevins’ narrative to mention any pitch invasions elsewhere.
The narrative that Billy McNeill would somehow have been mortified by the wilfully reckless behaviour of misguided Celtic fans.
The way Keevins also dismisses Martin O’Neill’s opinion shows how much he wants to rain on Celtic’s parade.
It’s killing him that Celtic have disproved every negative thing he said about the club all season.
Killing him so much that he just had to continue the bitterness after O’Neill had secured a double nobody expected him to deliver:
Martin O’Neill, for his part, was wrong to dismiss out of hand the seriousness of the situation regarding the field invasion, saying there had been an element of “hyperbole” concerning the matter.
He even used the word “nonsense” to describe his disregard for the debate that has now led to Hearts demanding answers from the SPFL concerning the game’s duration.
He could not even bring himself to congratulate Martin O’Neill on that achievement.
He really does hate Celtic.
This next statement epitomises that:
When, in the midst of rapturous joy created by a title win, some people’s first inclination was towards violent gestures directed at innocent players from the visiting side, a question arose in my mind.
Is football properly equipped to handle the rise in anti-social behaviour within our game? The judicial system will deal with those responsible for the disruption.
Lawrence Shankland certainly wasn’t innocent.
He was antagonising Celtic players all throughout the game.
When that wasn’t enough, he was antagonising Celtic fans and caught on camera laying hands on one fan, when apparently he was one Bloom’s “one or two” that were assaulted.
Violent gestures?
GIRFUY?
A slogan that Scottish football players hear up and down the country all season, every season?
But only at Celtic Park is it a violent gesture, along with “Champions again”.

This whole article from Keevins is just dripping with bitterness.
I’m not going to dissect it any further, he isn’t worth my time.
The fact that he couldn’t help himself and had to write a piece like that is proof positive that this season’s double has hit him hard.
You know the old saying, “yesterday’s news is today’s Chip paper”?
Well, by the time Keevins got around to writing about the events at Celtic Park the weekend before last, the news on those events was sodden in Chip grease and out for collection with Monday’s bins.
The sooner this old dinosaur retires, the better for him.
Then he won’t have to pour his angst when it comes to Celtic into his articles anymore every Sunday morning.
This season has really hurt him.
How long before he starts predicting the Ibrox side will be next season’s Champions?
Place your bets now…
