The Celtic Board Have a Huge Job Ahead. One They Don’t Deserve.
Celtic find themselves in a far stronger position than expected this Summer.
Thanks to a sensational final day League Title win, we have Champions League football within grasp for a 4th time in 5 years.
Investment looks sure to be made again from likes of Tony Bloom at Hearts and The 49ers at Rangers.
However, investment is only made with a view to seeing a return of a greater value down the line.
Celtic have a golden opportunity to dwarf those levels of investment via PRIZE MONEY earnings.
Whilst our rivals have to dig deep into their own pockets, we don’t.
Prize money from Champions League qualification comes with no baggage.
It is THE Golden Ticket for a Scottish Club.
How many more of these tickets can Celtic squander?
We have MISSED OUT on more in CL Money than the much lauded figure of £70-80m cash reserves sitting in the Club Accounts.
Let that sink in. The same people who smugly tell you how lucky you are to have them whilst pointing to our balance sheet, have actually cost the club in loss of earnings MORE than the balance they use as a stick to beat the fans with.
I am so fed up with every Summer beginning with hope, turning to frustration, and finishing with apathy.

The current incumbents do not deserve another roll of the dice, they have a body of evidence to show new direction is needed.
When it comes to having to play qualification rounds to make Europe’s biggest stage we more often than not fall short.
Kairat Almaty last season still haunts the Celtic faithful, no wonder.
We had no excuse not to strengthen further last summer yet instead failed to replace Nicholas Kuhn in time for the qualifiers. He made a mere 37 goal contributions the previous campaign.
This Year’s Summer Strategy is Ten Times Harder than Last Summer.
How can we trust the same bunch to navigate appointing a new manager?
Improving on what we currently have, let alone replacing adequately what we will inevitably lose?
We may have the Golden Ticket against all odds thanks to Martin O’Neill and co.
But Celtic need to treat the Europe’s Premier Club Competition with the RESPECT it merits if they want a seat at it’s top table.
First stop is appointing a manager, there are rumours abound already Celtic decided they would like a conversation with Jens Berthel Askou once he had already committed to his new club Toulouse.
Many will argue that it’s overblown media driven garbage designed to belittle Celtic.
You could also point to it being true to form for our Club in modern times.
No Manager announcement yet new contracts for players announced, with the much improved Yang the latest to sign on.
I believe Martin should be offered the job based on his performance this season.
Part of me hopes he turns that down and his legacy is cemented amongst the greats with the unbelievable finale we just witnessed.
If not O’Neill then who? Martinez, Bellamy or Keane are the names appearing just now.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on them?
Martinez would be a Box Office Celtic Appointment.
Maloney remaining in situ due to their strong relationship from their Wigan and Belgium days could mean the wheels keep turning whilst Martinez navigates the World Cup with Portugal.
Martinez is the guy who could get us going at a proper pace, like Brendan in 2016/17.
His wife is Scottish and some may remember he had a spell as a player at Motherwell and occasional pundit on Sportscene.
I remember clearly my Dad letting me know “He speaks better English than you” at the time.
There is a Celtic connection with both Bellamy and Keane. Both had loan spells with the Club.
The reality is Robbie Keane would need a miracle set of results from the get go.
Choosing to work in Israel has made him an impossible sell to a large number of supporters.
Bellamy is the Wild Card option – a much praised body of work with Wales yet ended with failure.
He has the temperament and energy that would see Celtic Supporters gravitate to him with ease.
He has a clear football identity in how he wants his teams to play.
Whoever it is, there will be so much work needed done in the Window for them to tackle too.
The Celtic Board must back them to the hilt.
Keep Your Eyes On The Board.
They’ll make a cunt of the whole shooting match
Apart from one thing .
Selling our best players and hoarding the money
Fucking masterminds when it comes to that
Indeed mate
Well with the exception of last year they have got it right, over the last 15 to 20 years……
You think they have got it right preparing for CL qualifiers? Fair enough if so, I personally cant agree with that tho bud
What planet do you live on. Any successes have been down to players and coaches not the feckin board !!
Got it in one there…
How many years have we been shafted by clubs with much smaller budgets? Leave it too late every year apart from Anges year to sign players. No faith whatsoever in Nicholson and Co. And Robbie Keane can f off
They are incompetent imbeciles
There’ll be lots of headlines about “tracking”, “monitoring”, “keeping tabs on”, and “registering an interest” but no actual signings.
But Maeda will be sold early, possibly along with Engles, as we dither.
We all hope that things have changed within the Celtic hierarchy but their “World class” inability to even do the basics correctly hangs over the club like a cloud.
Latest word on the grapevine (from a usually reliable source) is Nicholson was in London this morning having a meet with Oliver Glasner before tge latter flew out for Palace’s Europa Conference Final.
I not confident about Celtic board get players in like said before they don’t care.we have won the league 5yrs this board must back manager who ever it is & back him all the way keep way hail hail.
